So I was wondering the following.

If I post on a forum and adjust that post after a month and put my url over there. Will Google still index it or do I have to comment on that thread again?

It's always possible that Google crawler will go on that page and index your link, it will probably happen, but you can't be sure how long it will take.

You can always try to use some services that helps with link indexing to make this process faster.

Problem is most forums dont let you edit a post that long after. But if you do manage that, just post the link in social medias with specific anchor text and it will likely be revaluated.

It depends on the forum settings. some forums allow you to edit a post after 1 month but many don't .

You can never be sure why Google crawler visited the site that you want to have indexed, but they are plenty of platform and services like indexinject, gindex etc which presumably helps you with that.
