I have some questions about how to grow a YouTube channel and maybe some of you can answer them:

1. Is it normal that my channel isn't ranking well even for low comp keywords when the channel is about 1 month old and has only a few views + subs? Actually some bigger and older channel rank for my long tail keywords even when they don't target them.
2. When does the channel rank better for keywords (I think when I can monetize my videos)?
3. How much subs do the channel need to grow organically through network/snowball effect?

To monetize, you need 1k subscriber and 4000 watch hours. For now, i can advise to focus on quality content

Yeah it is rough starting off with Youtube as a new channel. You have to just keep going, getting that click through rate (good thumbnails/titles) at good levels and if you want boosting views using either google ads or SMMA panels (just be careful what type of views you choose, don't want to lose the views or harm the channel).

Yeah I know that. The question was is it normal that ranking isn't going well below that criteria.

Yeah I try my best doing this. Right now I run some google ads on a small budget to get the first subs and some views (social proof).

You can still rank, maybe focus on learning well ok, will help u

I try to get some video embeeds for my videos.

Could I increase my visibility when I do some backlinks to my channel url (youtube.com/c/name)?

It dosent have to do with the amount of views you have.
Properly optimize your channel and videos for that niche you want to target and rank for.
CTR/Watchtime is key.
If you can get a better CTR/Watchtime than your competitors, then you will rank over them
