Hey there,
I´m kind of managing SEO for a business I work for (It´s not for what I´m employed but I´m doing it fur fun and experience).

It´s a local business and we have a shop since 2012 but never really active and back then with woocommerce. A few months back we started listing all products we have in the local store (we have like 20k and yet only 1k is online).
Recently I installed GA and SC. It seems that we have a decent amount of traffic but only very few conversions.

for the last 7 days.

I dont know why there are only so few people really converting.
As you can see, only 1 user converted in the last 7 days.

Possible factors:
1. The people just look at what we have in our inventory and then buy offline (about 100 of the clicks are near the location)

2. The Website just looks shitty and the descriptions are sometimes incomplete ( old employe just was bad at this stuff and even told my manager that there is "No way to measure rankings, traffic, traffic sources... lol)

If we say that 1 is true that would subtract maybe 100 of the organic people so we still have 100 people left which didn´t convert. And for local businesses, the most people are just looking at our GMB instead of our website.

(Last quarter year)

I just dont like that there is no way of measuring if someone was looking at our online shop before buying offline or something.

Maybe you guys have any suggestions.

Your site need to give trust to customers. You need good looking design that will give trust to them.

Will you buy from your store if you are the customer?
Are prices higher than competitors?

Prices are the same as the other store because we all have to use the price which the dealer gives us.

In my opinion, it doesn't look that good but I have very high expectations in Online Shop designs.

It´s basically like this but a few things are worse (few photos which still have backgrounds, not that high level graphics ...) https://demo.jtl-shop.blackbike-forest.de/

This one is not so bad... Does keywords have buyer intent?

Average conversions are about 1-2%...

can you share the screenshots of:
  • the frontpage
  • best product
  • about us page?
---

2) is the traffic targeted? .. 50%+ potential customers? .. not just wide public (internet wanderers)?

some keywords are good some are bad.

Let's say we have a jacket: jacket, winter jacket, buy jacket.... (only keywords that fit so no summer jacket here) and all the keywords are researched with keyword planner.

unfortunately, the keywords which the old employee used were only sometimes the brand and "jacket".

If keywords are broad than you shouldnt expect great conversions rate. For example people who is searching "cheap nike jacket" or "nike airspace jacket for kid" will buy more likely thank "nike jacket" ...

Sorry for censoring but I have fear of the all mighty bhw members

About us is just text yet but we're working on google maps directions there and on the front page, google maps reviews.

The problem is here that we have about 20k articles that are planned to go online.
If we now do keyword research for one article individually and that only would take 5 minutes that are 70 days more work just for the keywords.

At the moment we are doing it like that:

I created an excel sheet with "jacket" and then the keywords after it. Employe copies the keywords, remove the not fitting ones and done.

wow, sounds an amazing project to work on. Are you sure woocommerce is the best solution here? :? .. just thoughts :)

man, with this amount of articles (hopefully they are unique) - the traffic you are getting now is just peanuts :)

best of success!

p.s. yes, you Germans like all "schwartz", though I would avoid black banners

Nah we used woocommerce back then now we are using "JTL".
Its a goods management system which we use for offline selling and eBay, amazon...

The Black banner was just censored lol (but yes we like "schwarz" :D
multiple people are working on getting everyting online but its just time consuming and the offline selling brings way more revenue for now.
And you don't believe how difficult it is to find good and fast employes...
