Think You're safe with Brave browser? Think Again

Brave's always been trash IMO.

I also noticed allot of nofications with affiliate links to finance sites and sites like AliExpress

I believe I already read this on BHW before. Guess some people discovered it earlier, as well.

Anyways, I remember the talk from that thread... They gotta make money somehow was one of the often responses. ;)

Website in auto niche can display dog food ads to one visitor and umbrella to another, this niche plays very little role on rpm.

The earlier post was about Amazon affiliate commission.

I am not using brave but will do now if it really protects my privacy. If it's a choice between my privacy and some commission which it may earn at no additional cost to me, I prefer latter.

Interesting.

However I don't see any affiliate links.
Is this issue only present for US region?

It sure is a dick move, but I don't see how this would make it "unsafe"?
Doesn't change the fact that it can block trackers, fingerprinting, etc.

Right, ofc. And it has already been gotten rid of yesterday. But this kind of practices, without warnings beforehand (violating FTC guidelines btw) doesn't exactly scream "you are right to trust us."

Who knows what other skeleton lieth undiscovered in the cupboard.
Yeah I know what you're getting at. I think that Brave are a fairly "good" company on the spectrum, and obviously are a country mile ahead of Google when it comes to how much they exploit users.

One of the great things about crypto in general is that the mantra is (typically) about openness and transparency.. companies that pull too far away from this in the crypto space don't fare very well.

You only knew this now? They have been doing this for a long time. No one gives anything for free

That is how computer games became profitable by giving you free games to get you hooked at the start.

Well, if i look up for something on Amazon, do they get me affiliate links?:p

Why not use Tor and duckduckgo for "safety"?

SMASHMYFACE

what if I already had binance account? I never type binance.us I just go to binance.com and it seems there is no affiliate link.

How do you think Duckduckgo makes money? Aff links.
