So Bill Gates didn't actually create the windows OS

So Gates is just another lucky billionaire. The dude is smart though.

Because he did not buy his way into a company called Tesla?

@OP this is ridiculous. Some dude created a version of DOS, so what?
Yes I know, there's nothing wrong with that, Gates is really cool, buying an OS for $70,000 is pretty much expensive back then, and it shows he's got the money even before that

This message is insight, foresight, experience and a confirmation that actions speak louder than voice. My people let's try and do our best in every situation. We should never give up. Attitude to work matters. Every customer matters.

I just watcha video on YouTube about the man who could have been bill gates

His name is Gary Kildall
He is the man that was meant to create an OS for the first IBM computer.
IBM approached Gates for an OS for their PC but Gates turned them to Gary then IBM paid Gary a visit but he wasn't at home because he didn't take the visit serious.
They left him and went back to Gates. Gates agreed to build them an OS
Did you know what Gates did? He bought an OS from a small company for 70,000, rebranded and renamed it from Q-DOS to MS-DOS, and guess what, the Q-DOS was actually developed from the scrape copy of an OS Gary created
Gate sold the OS's license to many computer companies which actually made him a billionaire
Gary's wife left him because of his failure, he slipped into depressed and died of head injury in 1994 from a fight.

I really felt bad for this man,
There's more to this story, you should watch the video

This is like Nikola Tesla (Gary) and Thomas Edison (Billy)...
There are Always people that will try and take advantage over somebody elses work in any way...they only care about money...

I don't think Gates took advantage of his work
Perhaps, Gates directed IBM to Gary, but he wasn't consistent, so they came back to Gates

He might have stolen but he used it for good purpose and it's very easy to blame him when the whole forum combined doesn't make even closer to what he does

Steve jobs story is also amazing. I heard he lied about the product but then later he worked hard to build it later. Sent hours and hours continously to deliver his product.

He bought the software, he didn't steal it, infact, all blames should go to Gary for taking thing recklessly
You should watch the video, you'll know what I'm talking about

I dont care dude what matters is he's a billionaire and you can't deny that loathe him or hate him he's WAY ahead of all the bhw members

Its way more easy back then than now, most future billionaires now would be from inheritance

Yeah, he was smarter than Gary.
Actions, actions, actions that's the only thing that matter in this world. ACTIONS!

Who the hell cares buddy he has billion of dollars now he has done what a real businessman will do at that time.

I like it when powerpuff girls on forums talk about the big guys.

You can clearly see how much frustration is within y'all LMFAO.

I don't/won't/didn't bother with such topics. Just live the damn life instead of chasing other's..

No mention of Xerox PARC in this thread. I think its pretty well established Gates stole the windows idea from them. It was actually Microsoft BASIC that made him the money to start MSDOS. He did write that himself and it was ported to a lot of early platforms. Gary Kildall should have dropped the cost of CP/M then maybe Microsoft would have had some competition back then. It was too late by the time they did DR-DOS.

I loved MS-DOS and was not thrilled when I initially had Windows and hated Apple products back in the day.
Good old Wordstar, ctrl+ks and ctrl+kx
