Recently, I noticed that many thumbnails of different channels look same. Then I realized, this is the result of using same tool by everyone.

There are lots of tools and Canva is the most popular one. However, I am a fan of PowerPoint and I use it to make my video thumbnails. If you have minimum design sense then PowerPoint would be perfect for you to create your own unique video thumbnails.

Adobe light room and Photoshop. The best tools for high end thumbnail. canava is a shit, it's good for babies. real pro's using light room and Photoshop.

Most of the app leaves a watermark.Also on app making a thumbnail takes a lot of time. So I will suggest you to use Canva. CANVA is a online website.Check it ,It will help you to create a lot of things like thimbnail for blog, youtube, Facebook.You can also create channel art ,logo and other stuffs.

I am trying to make a different custom watermark for every video to put at the end for like half a second I don't think I can do it on canva unfortunately

i edit the photographs with snapseed, and I use canva (like everyone apparently) to create the thumbnail.
You can use preset graphics or start from zero with your own.

I use Canvas only to create something quick and uncomplicated. This editor has limitations and often some tasks cannot be performed there.
Photoshop is perfect, there are online versions that have almost full functionality.
So the choice will depend on the tasks.
