I have received several times a payment of 5 euros. They keep me 45 cents. Why so many??

That's just their way of running business. And they were like the first payment processor that got big and somewhat mainstream AFAIK.

Maybe try to raise your prices or switch payment providers? :)

Paypal fee is worst especially if you want to send a small amount. It costs 2$ to send 2€. Ridiculous

Because of lack of competition. Other options are not as widely used as paypal.

I've been looking a payment provider for small payments, shopify and amazon have similarly high prices, stripe is a little bit less.
I havent found anything yet that offers decent fees for high volume low value transactions.

because there a company and there greedy. wouldnt you do the same if
you owned paypal? its all about profit

Because they are greedy unfair creatures.

Because they are the leaders and they rule the payment industry.

Paypal fee is huge for cross border payments.

There is a real reason for this.

The owner has this thing where he gets really hungry. He is hungry all the time.
And the company is making an effort to keep on feeding him 24/7.

Some say that one of the reason he is so hungry all the time is his loose asshole. Most food just goes through...

Because they can. Basically.
In fewer words? This!

They are the biggest online payment processor in the world and, therefore, that allows you to "get away" with overpricing your customers.

What is the best way to solve this?

Again, in fewer words? COMPETITION!

I’m using stripe a lot more now. Not quite the same but their fees are slightly lower than PayPal.
