Hey guys ,
I'm currently working on my business journey and I've reached the phase I need to find clients and the only resonable way seems to cold call/fb message local businesses without website (I'm offering web site building service)
How can I apporach them?
Is saying "Hey , I saw your business doesn't have a website and I'm currently offering good deal for a high quality responsive website for business that will allow your costumers to see x and x on it"
Is good enough?
How can I imporve my tactic to increase the chance of finding a costumer?
I also have no idea in SEO or link building so what I offer is a plain system/website without any marketing and that make me a little unsure what benefits will the owners get

It's going to be hard to sell a service when you (the seller) can't justify the benefit that you're going to bring to the client.

What kind of niche are you targeting? You need to provide some value. Example, restaurants you can say you focus on online reservations and beautiful menu pages that increase sales and bookings.

Ask yourself how can you 10x their website results, then go present it to them.

Benefit is simple. No website = lose customers to those who do.

Now it's always true, but this is what a lot of people think and believe.

A lot of businesses without websites wany websites but havent got round to it or had no clue how to start.

Just show up and sell em.

I would pitch them that a website is your representation of your physical store online. The biggest value for them is that a website would provide a great channel to reengage existing customers beyond the physical store. You can tell them to direct customers to the website. On the website there could be offers for discounts, a blog, and other incentives for customers to regularly visit the website. I'm also happy to help brainstorm more sales ideas if you pm me :)

Called calling doesn't always have to be a one. You can make those prospects bring you loads of people. You first ask if their time is available cause that bring in curiosity and make them listen. Make them laugh a little bit and don't be over professional or too statistic.
Now for the real deal, say : I know you are probably busy, but do you maybe know someone who would benefit from (and list your idea, benefits)
Make it attractive and short, so they know what to see and once they refer you to some of their friends or families, it's no longer a cold call.
Referrals are amazing. It takes time for sure but better than spending monthly bills for your calls and getting people to say "I will think about it"

Last tip ; it's very crucial that you believe in your product. Confidence will be obvious in your tone when you show the benefits to the prospects. If you don't think you would pay for your own service, why anyone else should?

You need 2 people: one will collect you the base of phones, and the second one will call customers on them.

Meant to say "it's not always true" in my last post.

Also a brilliant brilliant point at the end from SychoMack.

You gotta feel your product is the best thing since sliced bread. Good news is you can delude yourself into believing anything is good. But confidence in your product (unless its so unbelievably good - which rarely is the case) comes from mental preparation.

If i were a business owner my greatest concern will be to sustain the business by making profits. So any salesman with good service to help me increase my sales is a welcome client.

My advice about cold calling or mailing local businesses about websites:

Don't.

Wast of time.

I've tried it.

It's a heck of a lot easier to get on a freelancing site, and pitch someone who is actually looking for what you're selling.

I had 0 success cold calling. And a lot of success freelancing online.

My 2 cents.

Well thats your experience doesnt mean it hasnt worked for others right?

Yes that is just my experience :)

But as far as I can tell based on the answers, I'm the only one that actually has experience trying to do exactly what the OP asked :)

As I said, just my 2 cents.

To OP - do NOT take this advice.

While cold calling can be extremely hard, it's one of the best proven ways of getting conversions if you're just starting out locally.

Try to get over the fear of meeting and talking to new people and just go ahead and do it.

If you get good at cold calling, there's no limit as to how far you can take your business.

If all you do is send out cold emails you will most likely have 0% success.

I would advise you do a combination of calling them and sending them an email.

Best thing would be to take a screenshot of their current outdated website and let them know how you could help them get more customers by updating it.

But whatever you do - don't avoid cold calling! It will be one of your biggest mistakes.

Showing up in person at someone's door is the best way to make an impression. Drop a business card off. Ask them if they have any interest in learning how their website improving in the SERPs can increase their sales. Call them in a week. If they aren't interested in meeting with you, call them every month or two until they either tell you to leave them alone for good or they will accept a meeting with you.

You wanna know a real shady way?

Well, gonna tell you anyway, I never read this anywhere for whatever reason, I guess people don't like to pull off long cons anymore. But this is to help bring home the bacon for you.

Ok, 1) you want to target sale channels with no websites, preferably not restaurants. Such as services (plumbers, constructions, pool cleaners, etc.)

2) make a list of 100-1000 potential targets (you probably already have such list)

3) you hire someone(s) for cheap (well you can do it yourself) to make phone calls, either hourly or on a gig basis. have them inquire about their services/product. Then say "sounds great! Whats your website?" They say they don't have one. Then say... "oh, I see, I'll give you a call back" (remember to have this done at least 2-3x per company within 3-7 day period)

4) now this is the beautiful part of it all, when you actually cold call, inquire about the product same as before and then ask for the website same as before, but hold and behold YOU'RE A WEB DESIGNER AND CAN MAKE THEIR SITE

You're welcome.

Companies need an online image. First, it helps their clients be clear about what you do.
Help your customers clearly know what you offer.
Believe it or not, there are many people looking for services from other companies. rest assured that they will hire one that is available on the internet than one that is not.

You won't build traffic for them. the same company must do it. with their presentation cards. with your advertising flyers.

A website is necessary for any business.

You are not setting up an online store, you are setting up a corporate image.
