Im about to register a new domain (.to). I have 4-5 ideas for the domain name but all of them are already available as .com domain. The monthly search volume of those domain names is between 30-400.

1. Do you think that would affect my seo negativly?

Fictional example:
misterfox.com (existing domain with 100 search volume and facebook page with 1.000 likes)
mistefox.to (my new domain)

2. If now 100 people per month google for "misterfox" and visit my website but leave the website immediately because they were looking for the other misterfox would this be an issue seo-wise?

3. How about the facebook page? Does this have any influence on seo?

4. In general, what are the technical advantages and disadvantages regarding SEO if the domain name/ company name already exists?

Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

What are you using the website for? Affiliate marketing (blogging)?

1) 30-400 monthly searches are way too low, your domain has to be a keyword with a huge search volume.

2) How long people stay on your website influences SEO a lot, you need them to stay on your website for as long as possible.

3) Not much, completely irrelevant for a new website.

4) You are competing with a solid company, so people searching that keyword are not searching you, SEO is based on search intent, you can't base your website on "stealing" traffic using someone else's name and then try to convince people who were looking for something else to stay on your website.

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Its a pharmacy website (shop). My intention is to use a brandable name rather than a keyword domain. I will get my visitors through the product pages. For example: misterfox.to/viagra

I know. Thats why I am asking if those 100 monthly potential visitors, which would visit the website by accident and probably leave, would have a bad influcence or if 100 is like nothing to worry about?

My intention is not to steal traffic (I would prefer to have a domain name that is not related to any existing business but any reasonable name is already in use). My concern are those visitors that accidentialy find my website when they search for "misterfox". I will outrank the original "misterfox" (which is a medical service) for sure as they are pretty weak in terms of seo. So if someone googles "misterfox" i will be on position 1 with my pharmacy shop.

Basically my question is: Is it a problem if there is a small existing business (different business type than mine) that has the same domain name as me?

(please remember that "misterfox" is just a fictional example. im not talking about this website)

Mmmmh then take what i said with a grain of salt, e-commerce is completely different from what i do. In that case you usually just buy whatever domain you want, if it already has traffic then why not, but i think it's preferable to have a domain name that's not similar to another one that is also an authority. You basically create the shop and then start making ads. You can then add a blog section to the website where you write articles that bring traffic to your website when people Google certain keywords.
