Hey guys! I'm relatively new to IM even though I created this account back in 2011. I finally found a general niche that I actually have a passion for and I have an idea of how I want to approach it.
To give you some context my goal is to ultimately become an authority in this specific niche and since I actually enjoy writing/researching this niche I want the heart of it to be about educating and capturing the passion of other people that love this niche while stealthy finding ways to make money on it once I build up my traffic. Basically I don't want it to be a spammy ads or affiliate site but rather an authority in this niche which I know will take time.
With that being said I had this idea to incorporate one of my other passions which is my disdain for the news in general. I hate the fear mongering, the constant us vs. Them mentality and I love things like reddits uplifting news subreddit that only focus on positive news instead of the negative. Unfortunately this doesn't sell as well but I do see a growing need for it in the future as I believe more people are going to be waking up to how toxic it is to buy into mainstream news in general.
Ok so that being said I had this idea to incorporate that in my blog. Since my niche is focused on a specific lifestyle area it's almost universally positive and there are quite a few news articles about this specific niche I have.
So I thought that it would be cool to add a news section to my site. For example if my site was about veganism it would be a section called "Vegans in the news" and I thought I could manually title the articles or perhaps even just use the existing titles from various news outlets to give a whole section to positive news related to my niche. I don't really wish to monetize this but if there is a way that isn't too intrusive I might be open to it. It's more about just being a value add to my blog to make it more of an authority in my niche.
With that being said I am very inexperienced and I want to know from the brilliant minds that I've already learned so much from on this forum. Would this method positively or negatively affect my SEO according to google or would it have any effect on if I had a manual review? Would there be any problems with me creating my own headlines even if they differ from the article itself?
And just to be super crystal clear my hope isn't that this will drive my rank up in and of itself, my hope is that this will be something of value that people interested in my niche will be able to benefit from amonst the regular articles and stuff that I'll be posting. Ideally I'm just aiming for it not to have a negative affect on my SEO with Google whether that be by AI or a manual review.
Thanks in advance!
