301 into local travel niche

Hey guys,

Some time ago, I bought two local domains with DA/PA of 13/11(in a local restaurant niche) and 15/9 domain in the hotel/travel niche. I rebuilt the last one and made it look like an aggregate travel website. Now I am considering 301 the local restaurant domain(13/11 da/pa) because I am short on time and recourses. Is this a valid strategy in 2020?

That does not sound like a good strategy in 2020. Those are two completely different niches. It will look spammy to Google if you ask me, but I've seen a lot of cocky, old affiliate websites use tactics like that with a lot more authoritative domains but you're probably not there yet.

You might end up with a domain with a decent strength but not the best topical relevancy IMO, that's how I think about it. What's your goal here?

Thanks for your answer. I made the website mostly for fun and to learn some more tactics. I do not have big hopes and plans for these both domains. I mainly wanted to see is G will bite the expired domain, and that's why I put some content on it. I realize that the domains' metrics are relatively low, and that's why I was toying around 301. But you are entirely right that in G eyes, this would be considered as spammy.

Keep in mind, that besides link juice, you are also redirecting anchor texts. So you might end up with a mutant of a link profile, which might or might not work well.

Plus, those domains are really on the low end. If they are scraped, they could easily be penalized.

Thanks for your answer. Around 99% of the anchor is empty; i.e., it is just an empty URL. This is what I also was thinking that I will end up with a mix of link profiles though the niches are relatively close. I need a solution for the second domain, and I don't want to park without doing anything. But you are also right that the metrics are at the low end, and maybe it won't pay off to 301 and keep in under my possession.
