I heard it on Instagram when people transform their personal IG account to an business one than the CTR is dropping and they get way lesser likes. I heard the same from Facebook pages when they started to use ads to increase their page likes or boost posts than they will struggle when they don't use ads anymore.

Not sure if it's true but would you think it would harm if I use YouTube Ads to grow my channel to the first 1k subs?

Would YouTube give me less organic growth or suggestions when I used Ads in the past because they think I will use more Ads when I don't get views/subs?

it would do well if you can make the people watching your videos engage in watch time, like + comment. And again in order for that to happen, you will need to make sure those YouTube ads are laser targeted on your ideal viewer with a good CTA. If they dont engage as well, YouTube will take this as negative feedback and wont pushout your video organically.

So do you think it would be a good idea to use in the beginning YouTube Ads to get subs and views.

There is no hidden system in YouTube that will stop your channel from gaining organic views once you stopped your ads?

The whole point of running the ads would be to retain subscribers so they would watch future videos. But it you could advertise a GOOD video & its able to get alot of engagement and watch time. Yeah sure you can start to get organic traffic for that video. I did that for a client of mine and got him 5k views (paid). We left the video up for over a year, forgot about it and found it at 1 million views later.

No, it's the other way around. Monetized videos get suggested more than videos without ads. Why? Because that's how YouTube makes their money.

Yeah sure but if they see that you buy ads then they just lower your organic traffic then you need to buy again ads.

Oh you mean if you use Google ads to buy views for your own video? I guess I misunderstood you. In that case, I have no clue.

I only know about Facebook doing this. The first time I'm hearing about this on YouTube

Correct. I would boost my own videos views.

Yeah for that reason I asked the question if YouTube makes the same. I don't know now if I should run an ads campaign to get a headstart or try everything organic.

@wengthemeng since you have an awesome Q&A thread maybe you can tell us your experience on this?

remember that a few videos performing bad does not mean your whole channel or upcoming videos will be negatively effected forever. NO!!
that is not the case.
even if ur channel performed poorly with low retention views for a while and later on u push out videos that constantly have high retention and get good engagement, then your channel and upcoming videos can be revived and your stats will gradually improve.

same goes with ads. if you get low rentention views from ads when u initially purchased it, that would mean youtube may not push out your videos much due to poor performance, but that doesent mean your channel is in any sort of "blacklist" forever, such that it can never get pushed out by yt ever again.
in the future if you buy ads again but if your content is good such that it keeps retention, then yes yt will push out the video.

the main thing you need to remember is , people that experience negative effects by buying ads are those people whose content is not good even tho they think it is.

when you have great content ad views will most likely give you very good retention. also if you can try to use more of discovery ads then skippable video ads as people so often tend to skip these ads. discovery ads is placed on the sidebar and the people will only click it if they are interested in the thumbnail and what it is about.

also remember the final point that all big music labels, indie artists, vevo music stars etc, a large amount of their budget will spent for a mix of youtube ad views, maybe some smm panel views, website embed views, pop up ad views etc.
these people usually promote with large amounts of ad views, yet when u open yt home page u can often see these videos recommended coz from the ad views itself the retention of these music videos would be quite high.

also im referring here to just the indie artists that purchased views that get on your recommendations.

usually the big artists like bieber, arianna grande etc such people have big influence and usually their videos would get boosted by YT itself.
