Why do you need a landing page? Let's say I do CB affiliate, and so with my socials I just direct them to CB product. Why do people need landing page? Please explain like I'm 5

Because you want to warm up your potential buyers. And you can collect email addresses.

The money is in the list.

80% of your money comes from repeat buyers. Repeat that until it sticks :)

With a landing page you can take from the informational stage to the review stage and then later on into the final conversion step.

By sending traffic directly to Clickbank you're losing out on a valuable chance to raise your conversion rate.

Partly because your conversion rate might just be higher if you have a good, genuine site as the "messenger" so to speak.

Also, by using email to remarket to your website visitors you might just raise you conversion rate by 1% in the end.

So... There's probably another 1000 reasons why people advise you not to send traffic directly to an offer, these were just some.

I should also add that I have had campaigns where I have sent traffic directly to an offer and succeeded in getting conversions, sometimes way more then sending the traffic to a landing page did. It's all about testing at the end of the day.

Thank you so much! Can you please send me an example of landing page? Is that just basically reviews/information about the product?

You need landing page to introduce your product in the best way. It's like your own physical shop in real word. Bust instead of walking people around you by relying on a change that they will come - you can buy some traffic in internet and force the purchases

User just see an attractive pick and clicking on it. He has no idea where he is redirecting to. Landing Page is your way to tell more about where user is going to land.

I didn't get a notification for this post.

It could be. Technically, if you send people to read a product review on your blog you might get more results from that. I think most do anyways :)

There are different kinds of landing pages... it all depends on the strategy you want to use in your campaign
Usually the affiliate link is a redirection direct to the sales page - the traffic you would send directly to the sales page has to be a hot traffic.
Now if you don't have hot traffic ready to go the the sales page you are promoting, you need to have some assets to send people to before they land on the sales page. You could send them to a page where they see a video explaining how you know about the problem they have and you care about it and you have a solution to them... These types of page are called pre frame pages
