Not sure if this is the right place..

Anyone dealing mainly in ecommerce sales so B2C starting to notice a decline in customers mental health? I got a few bat shit crazy customers at the moment - well more than a few, I don't think if it was for this "virus" Id have had them as a customer anyway... but some of them are just mental, attitude, demanding all sorts!

When everyone is saying we are coming together and communities are getting closer / stronger all I'm seeing is the darker side of humanity coming out in force (more so if you work in retail)

How did you get them? Did you lower your prices?

If your profit margin let you do this just add a small gift as a + to the people that's going to buy a product. Something that's cheap but look pricy.

What exactly happened?

Long story lol... Getting it from all directions started with one person who I think is now a competitor leaving a 1 star review and flood gates opened with it. COVID + Staff Restrictions + Postal delays = bitching customers who expect the world to function as normal.

Nope. Not lowered prices - sadly the customer base I got coming to me at the moment is the type that would have bought from the high street...

We send out a compliment slip with a tea bag and kit Kat saying sorry we messed up have a break on us :) - had a few returned no pleasing some people!

Postal delays
So basically your service got worse because of the impact of the virus. The customers just expect you to deliver what they were promised, and probably don't appreciate the excuses so they are being dicks.

Just refund whoever is unhappy and manage the future client's expectations before they purchase. Don't go crazy dealing with unpleasant people.

Yeah it's exactly that. I don't think service has gotten worse demand has skyrocketed, service descriptions with couriers and postal service all having a knock on.

THAT and obviously unhappy customers shout the loudest.

I've had some really nutty customers recently, so maybe there's some truth to your theory.

Today I've had 6 back-and-forth emails with a hostile idiot who's lashing out at me for his own mistakes.
