From what I see from a lot of online discussions - as stated by John Mueller, if google wont index - site may not be relevant to google and you should check your content, relevancy etc.

The name of the game, if there ever was one.
Snippets could definitely have something to do with this update. Some sites I own has 50% loss in traffic but rank positions are the same (except it doesn't count snippets).

Maybe the reason is a drop in demand or in seasonality?
If you see a CTR drop without a corresponding impression drop, review recent changes to the site, especially changes that could impact what's displayed in search results (including your TITLE tags and META descriptions). In this case, though, it's reasonable to assume that we're looking at an overall drop in demand.

This could be because your pages have thin content. For example, some of your pages I have looked have only 300-400 words

So, as I posted on page 1 of this thread, here’s my update:
My biggest money site continues to sit at #1 for focus keywords and longtail SERPS have stayed the same. What I have noticed however is that my competitors have been blown away from page one - replaced with big authority sites. What’s crazy though, is that these authority sites are MUCH bigger, older, stronger than mine in every measurable way. So I still can’t figure out a pattern here.
My site has about 200 backlinks, some are from tier 1 news websites, the rest are mixed and many come from my own PBN.
The site is 7 years old and has about 5500 posts all between 200 and 700 words long
The sites is supported by paid advertisers and ad$ense
My heart goes out to everyone who’s suffered as a result of the update.

For me Google is showing About 568 results for your site.
I don't really think so, I've another site that also has thin contents 300-500 words, but gained about 32%
Prior to this update, I usually saw 450 valid pages, now it's just 90. The site was hit in January update, and the may update killed it completely.
Videos and authority sites now rank for all my keywords.

How do you check the number of indexed links?
From Index, I checked coverage. Most of the indexed pages are not included in the sitemap. Google is indexing tags, categories and about page.
Thanks for the link, the guy does provide some useful info although it's very broad, however, I strongly disagree with him that if a website was hit with a core update, one needs to wait for the next core update to recover. As he says, there are algos upon algos and they (G) do a lot of tests. If a baby algo has been implemented into the core, you don't need to wait for the next update to recover, by definition, it's been implemented into the 'core', it's live, and whatever changes one makes to their website, it should not take that long to see if they work or not.
