18 articles isn't that many, unless they are 5k words of great content.
57% Do follow isn't enough either, you need quality links.
Is that the issue ? backlinks or content ?
Does the time have factor ?Without seeing your site, it's just a guess. Obviously your niche and competition are factors too.
Website age is really not that important. I agree with MisterF, it really all depends on your niche and competition. I'v got a website which is 2 months old and one of its post is getting a minimum of 50 visits everyday. My website is under a general niche but what I did was I targeted a specific niche's long tail keywords and optimized the post with relevant long tail keywords (again) and ends up the post ranking on the search engines with every long-tailed keyword that I have within my post.
According to MOZ it is 17How many keywords you rank in the top 100. Are there some in the top 10? Competition on those keywords?

I actually do not have much tier 2, 3 backlinks. I think that would have been the issue may beMake sure the On-Page SEO is well done on your site. Many people fail to tell you that it has the most impact on a website.
As for the Articles, Quality is indeed a factor you want to calculate.
As you probably know, the ranking of a website comes this way.
On-Page SEO is correctly done. No Keywords Stuffing
Quality content(don't really bother with over 1.5k words if you can't more than that. 1.5k is more than enough to rank good)
Make sure to know your competition - This will take a while.
High-Quality Do-Follow Backlinks - Powered by Tier 2, 3, and so on.
If the website is 6 months old you should literally point more links to it if the On-Page SEO is already correctly done.
