Automated linkbuilding tools have been obsolete for years for me.

Nothing else is needed at all.

Of course, too many people miss the primary tool that's required to use all the others. Common sense.

I dare say it's less about automating actually. In the past you could just fire xrummer and watch your rankings increase. Now you have to carefully build them manually (guest post, pbn, niche edit, etc) if you want them to stick, give you a boost and not penalize you.

I have a list of all the domains that have ever been registered. Don't really need it anymore.

I meant more T2/T3. Link pushing is still working. It is just the quality has moved down a few tiers is all. That is what automation can still help with, pushing juice to T1/T2.

1) Chromium browser add-ons (MOZ, SeoQuake, Majestic) for free checking of domain and page metrics. There are also a couple of free bulk DR checkers online to get the Ahrefs metric.
2) Rank2traffic (site transfers the Alexa ranking of sites into the approximate traffic sessions per month).
3) VPN (to use different IPs, for various purposes).
4) The Wayback machine (to check expired domain candidates, and scrape/re-use deindexed content).

You forgot Zennosposter, I think if there were only one left it would be this one. You can easily fill your PBN with "handmade" articles if you wish.
You also need something to scrape proxies, I think for its versatility Scrapebox is a good choice.
