I have a multi-language website. 10 languages total. For each one, there is the main review page and the privacy, both in that language.

30 days after, I added 20 @Rachmaninoff type manual HQ backlinks (2 for each page) from sites like ibm.com, lexisnexis.com, justpaste.it, brandyourself.com, ted.com, emailmeform.com, etc., the site started going down.

I thought it was the well-known downswing that happens almost every time, and stayed calm waiting for the big comeback.

After another 30 days of patience, seeing my SERPs going down a little bit every day, today, there was a big dive to the bottom..!

So, now what?

Should I...
  • Keep waiting
  • Start building some more low budget links
  • Buy some expensive niche edits to the homepage or something
  • Let it be and wait more?

To wrap it up...
  • Day 0 >> Added the links
  • Day 30 >> Started falling
  • Day 60 >> Took a dive deeper

And a note... Do you think it may be a coincidence, and I have to look somewhere else for the reason of the drop?

Thanks guys! This site is important to me.

Ahrefs data has serious lag. Results from links can take more than 30 days to appear. Google update

We're in the middle of a Google update. Wait.

In my opinion that site is f ed, normally you would want to see a steady upwards trend, and not a chaotic up and down.
Most likely your articles are either not unique or are of extremely low quality, you have seen some growth mostly due to teh backlinks, but you most likely also got penalized because of them and because people landing on your articles either bounced off or are pogo sticking

Usually such a graph is seen for churn and burn sites, 1-6 months ranking, massive drop than finally deindexing.

what do you guys think of this

I have double checked, with Scrapebox SERPs checker. Same thing.

The site doesn't seem penalized. It has a huge drop in SERPs but one page stands still in first page.

We're in the middle of a Google update. Wait.

Wait till latest Google update settles down.

1)disavow spammy links 2) add high quality pbns and guest post you’ll recover and those links I normally prefer to use on tier 1 sites nt on money sites

Should I wait a while to see if there is a movement, or just add links and/or disavow? (Because of the latest Google update).

Just keep building links until you reach the top! Why stop? It's like saying google that your site is good, but not that good enough so it stopped receiving links. Drip feed + continuous links work.

My site traffic drop 60% the same day than recover the next day. please wait for 1-2 weeks to recover

If you still have pages on 1st position you still have a chance.....i'm seening the same thing on one of my site that got 200 natural high quality backlinks from news papers and tv sitation websites in my country but the Serp got a huge drop from 9 avg pos to 18 avg pos.

1st rule of seo: don't buy backlinks from "reputable" members here.

Sit and wait for 2-3 weeks before you do any kneejerk reactions.

Disavowing links can do you more harm than good at times.

@marios_521 - just because you added those links, it does not mean you were going to get an improvement in ranking. maybe you went overboard with exact match keywords?

what kind of anchors did you use?

also, what country are you trying to get ranked in?

So far, everything is still the same. Staying positive, waiting, trying to find a couple of good links to send to homepage.

I sent a bulk of BLs with a secondary term in my main KW. Example:
KW= XWZ premium
and my anchor was "premium"

It is a multi-language site. 10 different pages/languages.

I have used exact same links on my other sites. Worked good. So, I am not sure about this time. (Sent directly to money-site, as diversification)

I have one page ranking on 1st google results page and some other KWs ranking there. But my other pages are way lower than 50+ position... So, it it was something bad, I suppose it had to be same think on all pages of the site. Right?

@marios_521 - do you have access to ahref, majestic, semrush, .... if so, what is the % of backlink ratio for the primary keyword for the page that is ranked in #1 position and your page?
