There is a lot to say on the subject, but to keep things to the point, you’ll want to focus on three things: SEO, content, and backlinking.
For SEO, you will want to determine who your competition is and what they are doing. Take a look at their website(s) and see what keywords they are using and you aren’t. After adding those to your content, you should gradually start seeing an increase in traffic. That will probably be a part of their user base trickling toward your site.
Next is the content, which is what’s meant to keep these customers coming back for more. Even though you’re selling goods, it’s the enticing descriptions of said goods that often make the difference between a visitor purchasing an item or not.
The third part can be tricky. You will want backlinks. These are links from other, preferably relevant and high-ranking sites that direct visitors toward your own website. That will create a constant stream of visitors circulating through your network, and provide you with constant traffic.
