Hi guys,
I am a newbie here and to Internet marketing as such.
I found the forum useful and members helpful. Hence I would like to return goodwill with a small trick I use to enhance download speed, when downloading from the Internet in general, and filesharing sites such as Rapidshare, Filefactory etc.
1. Open notepad
2. Key in the following two lines exactly into your notepad, but after replacing the 000s below with your IP address
@ping -t 000.000.0.000
@pause
(hence if your ip is 198.162.1.120, the first line would be
@ping -t 198.162.1.120 )
3. Name this file whatever you like but save it as a bat file on the desktop or any convenient location.
(eg: you could call it speed.bat or ip.bat or download.bat---whatever name works for you.)
4. When you start your download from Rapidshare or any other site, click on the .bat file you just created.
What this does is that your computer starts pinging your IP address at regular intervals and you remain connected to the Internet at the highest speed allowed by your service provider and the site from where you may be downloading the file (for instance, Rapidshare caps download speeds for free users at 150 kb/s, though I am sure most free users have not been able to get more than 30kb/s download speed ever).
By using this method, I have been able to raise download speed to average 100 kb/s and have even touched a surprising 217kb/s from Hotfile and Filefactory on occasions.
Best part about this trick is that it is legal, costs nothing and can be done by anyone.
Try it! Enjoy! And Thank if it is any good!

PS: To find IP address, go to start>, run>, key in cmd.exe>, key in the command ipconfig /all into the command prompt menu that appears. That will generate your IP address. Since my service provider provides a dynamic IP, I have created several .bat files with the different IP addresses that I seem to be automatically assigned and match my IP address to the bat file to enhance my download speeds.
