Does consistency really matter?

Good to hear that, I hope it went good
What is your channel about if I may ask?
I make tutorials on coding in Unity3D. It's not really a BHW thing since it's just something I do for fun that happened to pick up a few thousand subs. Just thought the info might be useful.

Just found a video going viral in the suggested tab on my niche, and the channel didn't upload since 4 months, I think at this point youtube algorithm is a stupid robot and consistency is a joke! youtube need really to fix their algorithm because it's beyond unfair at this point....!

This last Youtube update is actually my favorite ever from the viewer's perspective.
The recommendations have never been so good for me, even suggesting videos a few years old that I will enjoy.

This contrasts with the past where Youtube only recommended new and recent videos.

I've also seen some dead channels that gave up now having a lot of new views and subs because of it, and so it also excites me into trying to get more on youtube and actually do videos.

The homepage now recommends a lot of relevant stuff, a lot more videos than it used to.

Consistency does matter take for instance people who create videos dont you think they usually give up way too quick when they should be doing that for atleast an years time?

Consistency, I mean in the timeframe there should not be much difference, sometimes you might post a day before or next day..what is important is timeframe, the number of days, the gap, it should not be much longer, keeping user engaged will improve your channel.

Maybe from your viewer perspective mate, but from creators perspective not really, youtube still have a long way to come! seen channels uploading consistently for 5 years like almost daily, but they still not getting that youtube suggested views or recommended push!

a lot of work to do still imo!

I don't think it's about the time you release your content.
Consistency is more about the regularity of your action.
You have to put in the effort on a regular basis to see good result and it applies to everything.
