Anyone saw the post of that hacker?

Hey all,

I just saw this post on BHW of a scammer/hacker who shared the passwords of like 20 people on a cryptocurrency wallet. Much to my guilt I did indeed login to see if it works and it actually does. One account had 4000$ and you could simply withdraw it in bitcoins. I got too scared and logged out and told my parents about it.

But what do you guys think?

- Why would the hacker share their passwords and username like that?
- Would you withdraw it?

Although I know I did the right thing, deep down inside me there is a slight sort of curiosity - What if I actually withdrew that amount?

Edit 1: Naturally and thankfully the post got removed a few minutes later after I refreshed BHW.

I removed it and banned him. It's illegal and even you accessing these accounts is a form of hacking too.

No, because I believe in not taking the money that I have not earned. I believe it will be the same for most of us.

The domain name that was provided in the post is not even a day old and its not even indexed on google. The wallets/profiles are most likely fake.

Building a reputation/for fun/so he can sell others/got these accounts in a leaked combo list and now he wants to scam others/so he can do harm to those people, etc.

Hackers/crackers sharing those kinds of accounts is nothing new, in fact, it is a regular thing.

I didn't see the post, but if those were website accounts I highly suggest not even logging in them without proper OPSec as you have a high chance of getting your IP banned. (This if you don't have a rotating one)

If these were Electrum seeds or whatever else, then Lord have mercy on those that got cracked.

Yes, they can track your IP, all the exchanges I know they keep track of your IP every time you login, are you sure it was a real exchange and not a phishing site?

Finally, my 17-year self has never seen 4 grand, I would probably be spending it on some video games rn and not messaging on BHW.

If you didn't use vpn or proxy, reset your router to get new IP, also refresh you browser by deleteing all cookies. Reason being site owner aka phisher can see your public IP very easily, and your router can become attack vector, especially if it has stock firmware with known vulnerabilities.

Don't scare him. They can't do anything. The website will probably ask for a 'deposit' before transferring the amount. That is how these kind of websites work.
