Wordpress Theme, maybe Free, for best page-speed and SEO

I am looking for some Wordpress theme, without slow plugins etc. I am looking for something that will do good in case of SEO and page speed. This is just a normal blog, so, nothing like big news page, just a niche blog.

do you know the best way to fix serve scaled image in generatepress? i tried using smush plugin but not all the image is scaled.
