I have been hiding under a rock. Philosophical reasons kept me away from SMM but it’s a huge mistake. I have decided that it’s time to create and optimise my Linkedin Persona. Can you help me understand the easiest and most effective way to start?

I have something of value to share.
I have a target audience.
I want to focus on personal for now but eventually market my business.

I have 3 major questions (links would be great):

1. What are the best grey hat techniques in 2020? Where is the line between boosting effectiveness and long term staying power?

2. What content will give me the best bang for my effort? Videos? Guides? Infographics?

3. How do I hire someone to create an optimal strategy and structure for success? What questions should I ask and what budget do I need?

Thanks for your help and experiences.

I didn't realise this would be a boring topic.

Really appreciate some advice. Especially with question 3.

LinkedIn is awesome for business.

The BEST strategy is to completely optimize your profile. It should be maxed out with the keywords, etc. that you want to be targeted for.

Join groups.

Post every 2 days...post very very helpful but short information. Article summaries with a link to your article off LinkedIn work very well as do infographics. Add a line like "follow me for more info"

Get past 500 contacts as soon as possible.

Hunt down and pad your email list with the contacts you want to connect with.

Get a LinkedIn scraper tool and an automated toolto help you prospect. There are awesome ones in the market place.

Get your bhw post number up. Buy VIP status and post on hire a freelancer to develop your strategy or just search for more info on the site... or as me mire questions.

Sorry mate I don’t know much in this area. As for your comment about this being boring… your asking people to give their time to try and teach you for free… so excuse them if take a minute to respond.

As for most of your questions I imagine they have been asked and responded to a dozen times before... have you tried looking for yourself?

Thanks. Awesome advice that gives me a lot of confidence that I'm on the right track.

How can I tell if a freelancer is competent and not a pretender?

I suppose, bu the way they talk... there arent many out there. LinkedIn marketing is often lumped in with other service offering, at least that's how I do it.

It's hard to tell but i actually dont think you'll find many scammers in the field. It's still relatively unsaturated. So 95% of the players are real.

Whoa Snap! Probably deserved.

have you tried looking for yourself?
Honestly, mostly I find 2 reoccurring topics:
1. Scraping and spamming contacts.
2. Getting freelancing work.

Will dig a little deeper...

Sorry for being snappy. Good luck tho :)
Saul Goodman. Respect:)

I like what I'm hearing from you.

Have been searching and playing.

Getting past 500+
Are the email scraper tools effective to connect?

What is the deal with #hashtags?

Do you have any tips about relationship building. I'm struggling to find content to comment on.
Do I just need to follow more?
Is there a bot for commenting?

I honestly don't get why linkedin isnt discussed as much on bhw. It is pretty awesome for all.sorts of business development.

There was a really good post here about just optimizing your profile. That alone will drive lots of traffic to your profile.

The 3 methods I use are:

1: scraping emails from profiles i want to connect with and adding them to my email contact list and synching that with LinkedIn.

There's also a service for getting connection requests. Its untargeted though and you get a lot of crap people inviting you but it is a good way to quickly get to 500 contacts. After that, the content you post will drive your invites as they essentially change from contacts to followers.

2: automated messages when you connect with someone

3: putting my LinkedIn in email signatures

Besides that, I occasionally comment in discussions.

Following is a pretty useless way to grow your number... you want content that attracts your own followers.

So, post and comment on posts.

I'm struggling to figure out what audience to target and what they like.

Any tips on researching and creating content that appeals to certain groups?

automated messag
What do you use to automate?
Also, is there a content scheduler I can use?

Would this be a way to circumvent a connection restriction?

I went a little heavy with dux soup and now I'm a little gushy but I'm paying for sales navigator and a separate email scraping tool so this might be a clever workaround.

Yes... it basically warms the contact up for connection requests

Custom software

Your audience completely depends on your offering. It works best if you ARE a subject expert

You're saying leave them in contacts for a while before going straight to requests?

Should you create a separate profile for each audience?

Thanks for being so helpful:)

Interesting, do you know what this looks like on their end? Like is it a standard connection request or does it just populate under the "you might know" (or however they word it)

know who you are dealing with, if done purposely, you are targeted for no reason, reasons are playthings, puppets in their hands

If you can, yes. The goal is to bea subject matter expert in specific field

Both happen. I think it depends on how connected you are to the person....for example, is he the only person in his group that you have as a contact or do you share multiple contacts?

It makes perfect sense instead of throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks.

Are there such things similar to PBNs? Such as a Private LinkedIn network that gets the algorithm to take notice?

What would be the action(s) involved? Bot generated engagement? Connections instead of backlinks?

Does this sound safe / doable?

Use software for auto views , if they view me back THEN a connection request simply stating the obvious (we've viewed each other) and asking for the connection , then a little research and pitch them.

Apparently you can no longer simply shell out money for extra inmail credits on top of whatever your paid plan allows you monthly (I guess linkedin is pushing its advertised inmail , which afaik is 80 cents a pop)

This way almost no one will say "I don't know this person" to get the account banned.
