I've seen a lot of posts like these, someone mind filling me in on this? I'm assuming this is some sort of private p2p?

yes like a private community where even if you invited you are need to participate to keep your account active, that's how things were previously but not sure whats changed

There are NO invites to TheVault (TV) as you can ask for invites to their sister sites such as TheGeeks, ThePlace, etc. Then you must be a member for 3 months on the other sites with at least 30 comments and then you can ask for an invite to TV while answering some business related questions. Hope this helps

I would be interested in an invite too. I once was a member but forgot my ID. I even uploaded some torrents but interacting with them to get an account again is "difficult" at best.
