How to Profit From the Deep Scars the Coronavirus Has Infringed Upon Our LifeStyle (Or How to Make Money in the New Reality).
I started this post as a promotional post after we finished analyzing the job lost per category as per the following image, nevertheless, I think many members can benefit from the content (let me know if this post infringe the promotional rules and I will modify it)
These are the Year to Date Job Losses in the USA in % (the data is up to April the 20 2020)
I have bad news and good news for you, the bad news is that there is no “going back to normal”, there will be no more “easy way out” the series of events we are witnessing in the last days will have an ever impacting effect, they will break and destroy many businesses and lives, I can’t sugarcoat the reality… the good news is that just like in any other crisis there will be fortunes to be made for those who are brave enough to take them and implement them, I won’t start with the same regurgitated phrase you already know “the Chinese symbol is the same one than the one of opportunity”, “the opportunities are out there, go and look for them” etc… I will start with specific opportunities and steps that can be taken in order to profit from these uncertain moments.
Many people can’t leave their homes, so they will need a way to make money while they are at home, so you can start creating work from home sites based on specific cities/states example:
As we can see there is a huge demand for health-related professionals, even as to search for retired professionals so they can come back and help, so what about job-related websites for those professions? Because this is not a fade, this will last long, you DO NOT make a nurse in a year and let’s not talk about doctors...
You can even go as far as to contact recruiters, hospitals and let them know you will make a discount on your site in order for them to hire the professionals they need.
There are more monetization avenues for your sites example: you can create a widget on your website called “Coronavirus advice and recommendations”, you send it to an inner page where you collect emails in this sequence you will explain to people what benefits the government is taking in order for them to claim their unemployment, how to fill out the forms, where to call if they have more doubts, what are the forms they need, etc… and you keep updating with new emails as the situation is changing and then you can include work from home opportunities that pay you (see the opportunities that certain CPA networks have if you are already a client contact me so I can send you a list of the opportunities we have already collect).
You can even create blog posts explaining to people what benefits they will get and how to collect them, share this information in social media and you will bring TONS of traffic and backlinks, you can be a light of home in this sea of desperation.
There are people who do NOT have the skills to be able to work from home, so they will need to acquire new skills, so in your email sequences or in your blog post offer a set of links to get new skills (lynda, LinkedIn, Clickbank courses).
The opportunities to work on demand will grow as well, what do I mean by that? The opportunities that are created via apps (example uber, uber eath, lyft, etc…) so you can create websites called hospitalityjobsalterlatives.com or waterjobsalternatives.com and you put these type of on-demand jobs because after a while people will need to make money still.
Now let’s think about the image that started everything and see what new opportunities can be created due to this crisis… I will try to share specific, useful and applicable as much as possible.

- To develop the entire technological solution, and selling the entire development or to sell it for a license fee.
- To document all the processes, to put together all the steps and involved actors in order to achieve the final goal, including all the processes, blueprints, formats, video, training etc… here you would be selling an info product, you will be “packaging the solution”, the how-to.
- To guide others to implement the previous point, to be the person who will put together all the things described in the “how-to” document and who will make sure the project is delivered from start to finish.
Retail Trade

- Many mom and pop places will need to implement apps to make people purchase their merchandise, you can start with the simplest form, a native app (Html and javascript) to more complex solutions.
- The solution can be as simple as to put their menus and a contact form to take out the orders to pay them when people pick them up to make the entire integration in the app.
Arts Entertainment and Recreation.
- This is one of those sectors that will grow over the internet since people are unable to go out to see shows BUT people are still craving entertainment, you can start simply by creating simple puzzle apps.
- Another solution you can make are adult tubes for specific niches or even a white label for a webcam show (here is one solution: https://www.camspower.com/cams-white-label.php), more than even people are looking for entertainment over the internet.
- Do you want to go via the information/integration process? Here you can create a step by step guide explaining to people how to set up everything to become a webcam model or to sell their homemade videos, it may sound simple but there are a lot of people who do not know how to do it (here is another great place to monetize it creating a tutorial: https://onlyfans.com/)
- Do you want to go the offline route? Perfect! You can explain to people how to set up solutions as https://www.roku.com/, create a tutorial, sell them the entire equipment and even set them up for them.
- There have been a lot of products that have been undeliverable because many retail stores are closed and I am not talking about the big retailers, but the cafe shops, local butchery, etc… so the idea here is to create a better delivery system directly from the producers to the consumers, the first idea that came into my mind are the apps where people will purchase their meat, fruits or veggies from the local/organic producer, the way you would promote these apps would be offline leaving postcards on the houses for example.
- If you are really ambitious with this project you can go to the local cooperatives and pitch them the idea to create a single market/app for all the producers now that their usual sales channels have been affected, this crisis will definitely allow them to evaluate new ideas to go directly to the consumers.
- This is a very interesting industry, talking specifically about the warehousing and more broadly the real estate one, because now that many offices are working remotely CFO are realizing that they may not need to renew such big office spaces, and the same will happen to the warehouses since the productions have been reduced in almost all the industries IMHO here the opportunity will be the uberization of the spaces, meaning that the rent of smaller spaces for shorter amounts of time, you do not have to build an entire app like uber but you can start by contacting these places and pitching the idea to put their available spaces online and set up appointments to rent it, basically moving their inventory online so people can see what they have available.
- Do you want to go via integration of the information/process? Make a catalogue/directory of all the companies that have excess capacity and teach people how to negotiate better rates or resell the services or create how-to manuals about how to implement security services so people/owners can monitor from home their warehouses, storage units. (There are people in the news just for gather the information in free Google maps)
- Offline route? …. Go and integrate the solutions you have created via the information gathering in the previous point.
- This is one of the industries I see will have the biggest changes, from applications to measure the guest’s body temperature to solutions to avoid touching the TV remote, opening your hotel doors with some phone app, etc...so several technological solutions will need this industry when the restrictions are removed the airplanes may change their capacities (removing sits to keep social distancing or getting bigger airplanes) and this would affect the prices too.
- Technology development option: As I said wrote it in the introduction the main goal of these solutions will be to make the hotels to identify the users that have high temperatures and for the guest how to avoid to interact with public elements (instead of opening the door with your hand, to integrate an app to open it from your phone, the same for the room air temperature or the tv, to integrate it everything from your phone)
- Info Product: Here it will be how to teach to people to integrate the universal remote control app for different models, how to debug the issues, how to integrate or implement these solutions and even how to make sure their room is clean or a list of tools and things you need to carry with you to clean the room.
- Implementation: Here you will choose the best technology, best apps, according to each client and coordinate all the processes so the owners can have these features up and running.
- This industry will have many new requests, from people who will need to have proper homeschooling set up, to schools that will request new technology and training to be able to deliver the courses online, many schools won’t be able to survive for the lack of international students and reduction of locals so financial solutions and many financial, legal and immigration consultants will be required to help solve the issues.
- Technology development: You can develop a “ready to go” solution for people who want to homeschool their kids, from resources, curriculum, links, online support, interactive software (to help visualize more complex concepts such as magnetism, trigonometry, etc..), you can set up an entire platform for support specific topics only, this is for the homeschooling crowd but the brick and mortar schools will require similar solutions or at least increase the ones that already have because the existing infrastructure may not support the new demands.
- Info Product: Here you can integrate some existing solutions such as Khan Academy teaching parents how to open an account, how to see the lessons, where to go for extra exercises, list of teachers or support forums for specific themes as well as to online tutors or even organize skype workshops with several kids to help them in their advancement or to supervise themes that are not that easily available online according to the parent's beliefs. There are several open-source solutions that you can study, document and adapt for a specific niche, topic or even a geographic region (making the translation).
- Implementation: Study one specific tool or technology and implement it to the needs of the school or the parent's topics such as biology, sexual education, chemistry can be touchy subjects in some cultures so people may need specific requests to access these topics or to be shown in a specific way.
