How do you sit down and just write?

A lot of great tips here already.

I would just add the Pomodoro technique, it helped me a lot in terms of focus.
It kinda forces you to have a certain time where you need to be concentrated. Give it a try.
I looked at this at one point and wanted to try it, Than procrastinated it out of existence lol ><

If you can get modafinil, get some and try writing with it. Nothing else will make you write more content faster than mod - it makes you want to write and to actually enjoy it.

If not, bang back the coffee and try dictating using Google Docs dictation feature. Talking is infinitely easier and faster than typing. I regularly do 12k+ words in one day using Google Docs dictate, and I've done that volume with normal typing in the past but it's much more of a pain in the arse.

You can pretty easily do a good 3k word article in an hour - 1.5 hours after a few weeks of practice, with another 20 - 30 minutes needed to go back over it and do minor edits which doesn't even require that much focus. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

Push yourself to write more content each day. Aim for +100w daily, and don't lose your motivation to move on.

I'll have to "peel an onion" to get this in my country since its prescription only. Than again maybe my doctor will write a script for it. Hes pretty fast and loose :P

In Europe, the US and a lot of Asia its very easy to get it. Your doctor sounds like he might be an option too though :)

Ive been trying on and off for years to get it online here (not serious enough to go onion until maybe now :P), I have yet to find any of them that will ship to Canada. I haven't checked any Asian markets though, a bit sketchy :P

Ahh Canada, yeah not sure how hard it is to get there mate.. and yeah, the first place that I got it from years ago was onion but now in Europe there are a lot of sites you can just use normally.

I've taken maybe 30 different nootropics and its the only one that consistently delivers.. especially for having to push through lots of writing. Worth taking the time to track it down if you were thinking of it anyway.

If you can believably fake narcolepsy or shift-worker syndrome to a doctor you're away - but I've never heard of anyone that's successfully done that for obvious reasons :)

I'm brutally honest with my doctor. Just telling him why i think i should get it is usually enough so hopefully, it would work on this as well. Kind of bad timing to go see him though so I'll have to wait :P

Youtube > jazz, coffee + l-theanine
I have ADHD too
Every 10 minutes i got super urging that i must check , facebook, and another 10 minutes gmail, forum, website a,b , YouTube, netflix and soon on

or else I feel something is unperfect
Or very uncomfortable feeling if I don’t do that

If you start writing something with the thought that you hate it, It is never going to get you anywhere. Always start with a good mood and fresh mind. Things that have always helped me write are watching some videos that are motivating or inspiring, relaxing or light videos, something good to read or some music helps as well. Just find what relaxes you and do that before writing something.

ADHD is common when trying to write. Writing isn't easy man, and even the best face this.

I do have one tip, which if you try will work wonders:

Set a timer for how long you want to write. Say 45 mins.

Now during that period you don't have to write. But you can't do anything else. So no browsing the net, no reading a book, no pulling your pants down and rubbing one out.

Your options are to write or sit and stare at the walls.

The aim is not to guilt you into writing. No no. It's to limit your options of which you are free to do either.

Should you do this you'll soon find yourself so bored you'll enjoy writing.

Try it buddy. Initial discipline is hard, but I assure you it will work.

Plan what I'm writing about, then headphones on and some serious tunes to listen to while I work with no distraction to worry about.
you do you manage to create an article with headphones on

Yeah I missed that. I can't in the world imagine writing an article with music on. That said what works for me may not work for you.

If it's a topic I know about already, I just write. If it's something I'm researching, I'll have a couple of screens open and go from there.

I tend to listen to music while working, as podcasts often make me stop to make notes, if the information is any good.

I am confused now music or podcast while writing?

it's confirmed here that most of the writers are not at all writers they just copy the competitors and rewrite by changing few things ha haaa.

thanks for all the solid advice! Today my wife and kid have fucked off somewhere else so I'm going to take this time to really get some stuff done! Hopefully..... Might need to get @MisterF to temp ban me xd
