Selling multiple category products on same site

So lets say i have a WEBSITE which initially started as selling men's shoes(plus 10 other similar categories)... Later i discover that there is another potentially high margin product category which i can add but its category is the polar opposite, lets say it is the massage chair niche...

So i am having this dilemma if i should keep everything under one roof or create a separate site for a category which is quite different from our initial products/categories base.

All other sites for the different category(lets say massage chair) i see in google are dedicated to selling massage chairs only, so i am not sure if i can pull off amazon, everything under one roof strategy as this is just a startup but at the same time i would really like to keep everything under one site only.

Any advice from experienced members is appreciated

Its best to focus on one thing first, then expand to other areas but if you want to go for both id say just dedicate a section of your website to the massage chairs.

I think what you really wanted to ask is....

You have spent time working on your site to become a "Men's shoes Guru", because everything that Google sees in your site are men's shoes.
So naturally, you get a boost when trying to rank for mens shoes related keyword.

So you wonder whether expanding your site to include massage chair will make your site lose its authority in the men shoes' world, against other "men's shoes gurus".

Right?
