Cuz indians have a very weired sense of vision. Had this post been written by a white (sorry I am not a racist) the responses have been different. (Also, may be about their country). (Or even by non-white about their country for that matter)
Whatever, good or bad about this thread, I still support it. No one is 100% perfect and still everybody must take pride in things which he/she has. And that is what I take the point of this thread to be.
If someone posts about their country I am and will be more than happy to congratulate them on their achievements and leave the fact-finding to those who are more specialized to do that. Nobody is writing a text book here that everyone has to follow.
I enjoyed the movie "Cool Runnings". It was about the jamaicans making the entry in to the winter olympics in the "Bobsled" category. I love the movie for the spirit of it and like this thread for the spirit of it.
Only those people who don't take pride in their country would criticize a thread like this. It's the lounge. If people don't discuss what they really want to then where is the sense of community which many people like to feel in a place like a forum.
This is the sense of community that makes web2.0 properties like, blogs, forums, social networks etc. that makes them so popular.
Please don't over-react. Talking of planet, India happens to be on it and if somebody wants to feel good about it. I don't see any problem in why one shouldn't.
Shame on other Indians who are criticizing this thread. You are just a bunch of over-zealous corporates who wouldn't see beyond their $$. I just don't understand this slave mentality. Where in effect taking pride in ones own country or traditions or whatever is unique to you due to your birthplace only increases respect in the eyes of others.
LOL Most Indian posters are bashing this thread and Non-Indians are happy to read this.
Making a big deal out of nothing - everyone, everything has positives and negatives.
