How long did it take you to learn LOCAL SEO?

I'm just starting to figure out SEO, considering taking a course on it.

I want to know how long it usually takes people to learn LOCAL SEO until they are able to charge clients for work. Thanks

It's not rocket science.

If you have basic idea about running an online business, then you're able to do the basic stuff.

How long till you can charge customers? It depends. Some charge customers before even learning

But if you plan on making it in the long run? Then there's no fixed time frame. After you're successful with your own projects, then you can probably do it for others.

I run a local language site business and I used quite a bit of local SEO.
It was not that difficult, certainly easier for me than trying to rank a site for a worldwide audience.
Get a Google business listing, that will help a lot.
I show up on page 1 for both the business listing and the site listing.
There are not too many posts on the site.
Post in local groups for your area - Yell, NextDoor etc. The more local links you have the better.
Also you may find a lot of Facebook groups for your local area.
A localised domain helps also - for me it is .co.uk

First start with basic concepts and you can also refer to BHW, many people shared strategy for seo. Implement it and keep practicing. Gradually you will gain ideas about it and you charge the customers depending on needs.

A month will do. I do that annually for local websites. Research for like a week and I can catch up.

When I was learning basics I just did it for free for a few local companies on the terms - I want to learn, I don't promise anything, but you can gain from this.
There should be no such term as "time to learn" because you can always improve things.
Also For the basics MOZ academy is free now so it's good to start there

Learning never has an end if you want long term running customers in your pipeline.

I used Moz local SEO course (it was paid at those time), Used some of top YouTube channels (everyone has got some of the unique key resource), BHW (Before lockdown to be true i didn't had enough time to engage here but BHW got lot of digged resources) and rest Google is your friend while learning anything on earth.

But always keep learning it helps you keep updated with latest release and techniques.
