Proxy, RDP or VPN; Explain it to me like I'm a 5yo

So I'm from the UK but I'm currently living/working in China. I use a VPN for personal stuff, but I'm not sure what I can use for; growing a business IG account, running FB ads, running Adsense.

I've had difficulty with things getting blocked using my VPN and I don't really understand the technicalities involved - how can I run the above services without being blocked with a budget of like $30-$50 a month? I've noticed proxies in the marketplace usually require a monthly commitment of $hundreds, but everyone keeps telling me this is the way to go...?

You just need a VPN, The proxies are for multiple accounts!

No need to use a proxy, a VPN is enough, but one of my friend in China who tells me, lots of VPNs are not working now So, the best is you set up VPS to set up a VPN or Socks proxy that used by yourself.

Also, RDP is slow...do not recommend.

Yes, Use the VPN will be fine, The VPN is 100% okay for that, but try to keep the same IP or at least the same location when using VPN.
And can you PM your VPN that working in China?

I've heard that China is very strict with regards to censorship?
Most of the VPNs won't work there, so i believe you need a VPS + Residential/Mobile proxies set-up.

Ok to explain it really simple,

Proxy is connecting to another computer that forwards your request for you, and gives you back the response.

RDP is access to the desktop of another computer. Most of the times the computer is a server. Server is like a computer but with the only purpose to host something or handle something.

VPN is a private network (virtual private network). You are connecting to another remote network of computers. It's like you are connecting to a remote router and uses this routers internal network to route your request. So when you browse the web, you send requests to this remote routers private network and that router handles your requests.

I’ve actually been using a VPN for personal stuff, accessing facebook, YouTube etc. There are no problems using a VPN so your friends just don’t know a good VPN. It’s fine for personal usage. HOWEVER, it gives you a different IP everytime, and sometimes it’s not the country it says it is. It is also easily detectable as a “proxy” which resulted in my FB ad account getting permanently banned even though I was running whitehat ads. Also had a couple business instagrams accounts get flagged for the same reason.

It seems VPN is fine for personal use, but anything to do with Ads/Business and the services block you.

I think the solution for me right now is to get my friend (in the UK) to set up a system and I will RDP to it. It’s going to be slow, but I’m only going to be using a browser and maybe an android emulator (for Instagram).

Our idea is to just connect a headless Raspberry Pi to his WiFi and setup RDP.

Another option would be to use Proxifier (proxy client) on my machine with a residential proxy, but that seems a lot less reliable incase there are leaks or if the quality of the proxy gets worse and more detectable in the future. At least with RDP it is an authentic residential IP and reliable.

There are VPNs that are offering Residential IPs. You might wanna try them too.

1. You need to manage multiple accounts at the same time
2. You need one account managed by multiple people from multiple locations (countries)

In your case, there's no need for a proxy if you will manage only your account.

But, if you plan on residing in China, you will need a VPN to encrypt your traffic and bypass the Chinese Great Firewall.

Furthermore, once on your VPN, if and only if, during a connection to IG, or FB, your account's get blocked because of your VPN, only then you should consider either changing your VPN or using a proxy over VPN.

But, as I see it now, you don't need any of that.

Regarding the RDP, you can use a free AWS EC2 instance from a server located in Europe or the US and you'll need your VPN to connect to it.

Take away: As long as you're in China, the VPN is indispensable to you.

Yes, in this case, you do. However, you can use datacenter proxies. Once you connect the first time through it, you might be ask to verify your account, but once done, the proxy IP address will be tied to your account, so you won't have any more issues.

And as you will have manual actions on your account, if they are not too many per day, you shouldn't have issues with blocks.
