Hi guys (and girls),

So for the past few months I've been grinding my quiz website, I've got (what I consider to be) a reasonable following base. While my social media profiles haven't got a massive following, I have engagement with the quizzes and get a fair number of shares from users completing the quizzes.

I'm currently monetizing through AdSense, however it seems my traffic isn't earning me a great deal at the moment. I plan on keeping AdSense running as one form of income, however I'm looking into alternate methods for bringing in some extra cash.

I don't wish to be spoonfed an answer, but more get inspiration to help open my mind to other possibilities.

I think your quiz website have potential to earn with CPA method. Join CPA affiliate networks and post offers on the website.

stay with adsense, there is nothing better than adsense. maybe cpa but im not sure how it could work with quize site

I've never actually worked with CPA, I might have a look into it.

Maybe you're right, plus it's less annoying for my visitors. I guess I just need to focus on increasing traffic.

My suggestion, First Check your site
If you think you can still improve the site, content, onsite seo, or seo. Than do that first. You can start find more way to monetize after you feel you are near the limit.

I'm always reviewing my on page, internal linking structure, always writing and publishing new, unique and engaging content and I spend 4-5 hours per day already on my off page link building.

It's more the monetization side I was looking into

Than you can try cpa offer, Amazon aff etc. Depending on your niche.

I'm curious as to what your current earnings are... as well as number of daily visitors.

Considering you generate a lot of Pageviews you can add CPM ad network and it should boost your revenue.

AdSense can bring decent starting revenue on quizzes, but a lot depends on traffic performance and quality.

I don't really generate a massive amount of page views, I've been hitting between 90-130 unique views per day with most my traffic being from Social. I'm still working on organic traffic but with me using a new domain without any metrics instead of an expired domain , it's quite probably going to take a while before I get anywhere with organic traffic referrals.

I've never worked with CPM before, so I'll have to do some research. Thank you for your advice though.

150 Pageviews is not a lot, but something to start with. What is the Geo of your traffic? Have you tried driving traffic from social media by sharing links directly to quizzes?

Social is my primary source of traffic at the moment (as I said, currently working daily on my organic search strategy), I have a well connected personal account, me and 10 other people (these people are creators of the quizzes) are just sharing them every time there's a new one being posted. I'm also basically relying on people sharing to see their results. My traffic is mostly UK with a little bit of US in there at the moment.

How much are you making with AdSense at the moment?

I asked because with 'all' this work you only get 150 pageviews, not even visits - something must be wrong.
Single share on reddit can bring 1.5k visits even if gets deleted. That's why I asked.

Still curious to hear some real earning numbers.

Add display ads, few cpa offer like congrats you scored good and unlocked chance to win iPhone, complete survey, some related amazon products/books.

Just droped by to tell you not to try CPA. Visitors will just close the page and prefer not to see the results if you lock them with a link locker. I tried it myself and from 2k visitors not a single conversion and less then 5% CTR.

From what i read about this kind of websites is that you should go with CPM.

What i would suggest to increase traffic is to have a few quizzes with 20 or more questions where people spend some time answering all the questions and then lock the results with a social locker and have them share on facebook so they can see it. That will piss them off a bit but at least you will get some traffic. It needs to be a long quiz. If is short they will just close and not share. (personal experience)

I'm building one of this sites myself and was wondering what is your CPM with Adsense for USA traffic?

Good luck!

I over-complicated my process and eventually realised I was causing my own demise. I wasnt utilising reddit and I also got my domain banned on social media.

I was using a poor theme with all the functionality built in already, which in turn wasnt converting for me very well.

I am revising my strategy, I will be making use of your service in the coming weeks after reading into it.

To everyone asking about my earnings: I earned a measly £50, which after hosting expenses over the past 2 months, worked out to be £5 profit.
