Most of the offline business have got affected by lockdown due to corona at many places. Also, the situation is expected to continue. At such, is it better to focus on online business than offline business ?
Does it make more sense to start an online business than an offline business due to corona ?

Hard to say. Virus seem not to be killed by hot temperatures (just reduced and will come back in autumn), and before 2021 unlikely to be a vaccine.
So for the next 6 months or much more offline business are not a great idea.

Even in summer it will not go away because in many countries with hot temperature ,it is still spreading.

Yes, and the bigger issue is that the problem is expected to intensify in near future.

It depends where is your location. Some countries are still allow to work/find jobs
Online doesn't mean ALL are suitable. Some people have been doing online for years, and yet still earning pennies $

The wait will not be of couple of weeks in my opinion. Corona is here to stay.

This virus going to wipe out India and other 3rd world countrys, hope help comes soon , especially the poor and there millions in camps, 1 man was found dead from the virus in a camp in india, not long till the whole of India infected, very sad .

online business good idea, but online takes many years to master not as easy as said also need a disposal income monthly, I pay around £700 month to keep everything going from services to applications, some ppl can not afford the monthly fees for services and apps that the problem.
there no guarantees earning online at all.
when everybody was on holiday on beaches I was investing in bricks and water for a monthly return over many many years as you can see paid off nicely.
this virus will bankrupt even well-known marketers that didn't invest and wasted all their cash on holidays and high life.
all I am saying it best to be very wise for rainy days, ppl are now dying from no food or suffering homelessness, many are going bankrupt, the rich are getting poor.

very scary stuff, we need hope and luck we can beat this virus or we are all dead FULLSTOP, we are all depending on the governments to use their professionals get us out of this shit.

I don't think this third country got hit bad I s true, if you see in the report most top ten is first country. I myself from third country other than self quarantine other things is normal.
BTW op i think ti make sense to go online. Anyway In current age almost all type offline business still need online presence.
too pessimistic..it will take some time but it will recover. Countries will help those who really need money. Only concern is 3rd world country if it spreads like italy etc it gets ugly there
yeah, but online business will be hit too, people will spend less. on YouTube I'm already seeing an important drop in CPM, on my website i get orders only about monetization (because people look for ways to get money)

I would just find a way to provide services online that wont cost a lot for people to buy. If anything, find something that rich people would buy. They can ride this out better than the rest of us.
And If you have the land, Start a garden. Buy a ton of seeds. Buy some chickens. Buy books that tell you how to feed yourself. Buy the implements you need to grow things and kill animals. Buy a generator. Stock up on water and gasoline. (Prices are down, do it now)
Do it as your budget allows. Even if it turns out not to be as bad as some people think......what did you do wrong? You learned a few new things and you kept your body and mind occupied while you were sheltering in place.
