Hey all, I'm a content writer by trade but I'm moving into building my own sites. Tired of seeing how much money I made for other people. So a relatively noob question, probably.

Anyway, my question is about garbage Tier 2 links. Say I have a Medium acct and regularly post on there for backlinks. Then say I add a metric tonne of garbage links pointing to that acct. Pointless blog comment spam, PHP exploits, etc. etc. One of those $5 packages for 10,000 links on Fiverr.

If Google notice that, what happens? Does the link juice from the Medium acct... Turn sour? And make Google take things out on my core site? Or do they not give a shit, and I'll just have to work on a different Tier 1 property? Pump and dump?

Generally, Google would have you believe that those links don't add or take away anything. They apparently ignore them, or aim to. The lowest kind of links I would use is low quality pbn posts like from the marketplace.

If Google didn't like that you'd built those links to your Tier 1, would they follow the flow of the links to your site and hit you for it? Or could you rinse and repeat and get away with it?

Or is that something that doesn't happen altogether?

If that was the case, then you could easily destroy your competitor's with that very tactic.

Hmm... But maybe you can? Negative SEO is a thing right?

There is less likely to be any problem for your main site. It you that much concerned that bulid junk links on tier3. It will be much more safer for your money site.

In my knowledge spammy Link as much as that, Google just straight up ignore it. So why bother, when it's useless.

OK. My point is less about what specific Tier 2s and what specific Tier 1 I choose. I want to learn whether when Google punishes your Tier 1 for what it thinks are spammy Tier 2s, is your money site affected?

How do you mean?

Lets say you built thousands of spamy links to your competitor, then he can just disavow thos links in webmaster panel. Plus goohle is smart enough to spot negetive seo most of the time unless you r an expert.

As I said they ignore it. Except it's carefully planned,
BTW if I remember right discussing a black seo in this forum is forbidden...
