I am fairly new at SEO with my own site, I mostly bum marketed before with PPC. I wanted to start getting traffic VIA organic search results. And I have been ranking very well for certain keywords for awhile and now my site has seemed to have disappeard. Google webmaster tools is saying I should be ranking at #3 for specific keywords which I was, but I am no longer.

My site usually showed up as number 1 for the term "Recent Scams" now it is not even showing up anymore. Does anyone have any input or advice? http://www.RecentScams.com

I guess you are probably sandboxed or google "danced" by your competitor

you can digg your main keyword with another page from your site but not the homepage to see what will happen, hopefully your site will come back

More than likely its just the Google dance. You probably started a marketing campaign and Google put you up on the top of the search rank results while it was trying to guess where the best place to put you was.
Now that they have...you just have to work your way up again just like everyone else.

If you can't find yourself in any of the pages for those terms, then you're in the sandbox. Don't do any marketing (especially link building) for a few days until you come out of the sandbox. Hard to say why you're in the sandbox, but usually too many links at once.

I think you will have problem ranking for the keyword, most probably your site is buried behind the pages. Look carefully at the 1st page result, most are actually authority sites.

Use Google webmaster tools. It will tell you if there is any problem in your site: duplicate content for example. If they deindex your site you will see there too.

I agree totally :biggthump,

Im seeing fluctuation all over the place right now

Check on page 5 or page 11, usually Google penalizes with -40 ranks or -100 ranks. If you are there then move gradually up.

But if you are totally out then you must have done too many links at once to be considered as spam, so wait and go slow, do not worry at all, you will be back soon :)

how old is the website, and how long were you ranking for the keywords that you lost?

What do you mean as too many links at once? Do you mean too many outbound links in one post? I know I have about 5 per post to clickbank products. Is this a spam problem with google? The site is about 6 months old.
