If you are from India

I have actually read a lot of statistics and studies about India, and seen a bunch of documentaries.

But that's beside the point.

He said that India has much better hygiene than other countries. I'm curious how he came to the conclusion.

Interesting that you believe that we should not trust anything anybody says, unless that person or organization comes from the specific country..

I get what you're saying @Zbigniew but if he is going to be defensive then nothing you can say will make him change his ways, maybe best to move on?

I heard the virus is in a 14 days quarantine after arriving in India.

Would you rather read a book that has information from all sorts of unknown places or from someone who is very knowledgeable in that subject? I know what you are trying to say, you are trying to find **information** so just like the Google search you have done above, maybe you could do a Google search on "Countries rated by Hygienic condition", maybe that will help :)

Honestly this thread has entirely moved on from the main topic to an entirely different topic.

Aye, I will leave it. :)
I don't agree about the not taking bath part, thing is we here dont have enough water to take bath in hot tubs but we take bath everyday especially when you go out to school and office coz most people use public transport here and if you dont shower for a day you will stink coz of how hot it is, your skinny will be oily and sticky and you will smell of sweet, but then again i am in one of the major city, and maybe in rural parts of India they might not have the luxury to shower daily maybe, but I have visited so many villages and everyone takes baths daily i have never encountered such a problem but sometimes when you trave you smell that sweaty guy who hasn't showered too, and when it comes to the poop problem there was a major moment after out current PM come to power and he built over 90 million toilets, one of his most important policy was he would build more toilets, it is estimated the toilet coverage went from 35% to 98% in rural India, but if you have some info that i do not know i would be more than happy to learn something new

Man, i'm talking about personal hygiene. not outdoor cleanliness . If you google search "India" , you'll see only slums, thats how western media manipulated.

Yeah, We lack in terms of outdoor, they are not that clean everywhere.
Some example,
1. We leave shoes outside while entering home. Some people have another pair for home.
2. we wash our ass everytime after pooping instead of just wiping off with paper.
3. We take bath everyday. in some south indian states people even take bath 2 times./day.
4. We eat with our hands, you can guess how many times we must be washing them.
5. Our girls, in case they accidentally got period. have to take bath asap. (However, not everygirl following this these days.) .

And many more.

I think some of the people are just salty that how come it isn't worse here than the developed western countries which is such a sorry state of affairs.

Water supply is an issue in the urban areas, not rural India unless you are living in the desert.

Things are looking good today here. Not much cases. Hope it comes down every day now :)

there is Thalaikoothal in there...why they are very evil to his/her own parent?

I am from Australia, but I'm currently in quarantine in Kerala :) we are in this together

True. I am giving sanitizer, hand wash and mask to my maids and for her family, so they want to go anywhere for such things and got to know use of these things.
My husband distributed 3000 mask to the needy people before 4 days back. Still process going on.
Its true we can earn money again but can't save life of any people if they are infected so better to give them required products and aware them from this panademic.

I've been in isolation since the 12th, yeah I'm quite okay here I've bought food for a month!

It's 144 section in most of the cities in India now.
If you're coming on Roads, you'll have to face the cops and their lathi :)

LMAO. Notice how they did not hit the rider with a woman in his scooter, just take a woman with you and the police won't beat you up.

I'm surprised to see that it's only 283 confirmed cases in India.

Considering the dense population and the hygiene in India, I'd imagine that Corona would wreak havoc over there.

Could it be that it's worse in India than other places, just that it's not reported?

am very close to the medical dept in my state. My wife works in medical field. Yes, some cases are not yet entered the official site. This is just to avoid the panic situation and govt are handling it very well.

i hear that india people is seldom take a bath.. i bet this corona make they take a bath every day

Its always better to delete the cookies from the brain often and make it fresh. LOL. coz you know better wat cookies does.

Govt does not want people to panic ,so keeping the stats low.
Exactly.

there are more cases. Going un reported
Yes. One more factor we need to understand, we have living examples from China and Italy, so the officials know what to do and what not to. They followed it some how and prevented to a larger extent. And the state Kerala did a fantastic job which is one example for other states as well.

Trying my best to aware people !! Even personally calling all my relatives, friends to stay home !!
