Seriously: you ready for Coronavirus?

Saw this on NY Post Twitter feed today:

Ha! My one dog would pull it out of the sky while my other would take the drone out of range!

And now - 25,000 troops on standby as London about to be locked down.

I don't know why I bother, I've been posting bits here and there that I KNOW and every time - someone wants to argue, it's all wrong, they know best, etc.

Then it happens and they disappear.

Just all take it as it comes, because it's going to be coming thick and fast from now on.

So Friday been and gone.

So you claimed to be in the KNOW. Yet London isn't on lock down. Army not been ordered to shoot looters and I got access to a 3g/4g and broadband internet connection.

Maybe your guy at Vodafone should stick to the call centre work and leave the espionage to the pros.

Instead whats happened. Netflix has limited streaming quality in Europe to ease pressure on the network both mobile and standard internet infrastructure. Phased "lockdown" starting with clubs, bars, restaurants, gym and other venues. There are camps being established but MoD has not yet been officially called into action despite being deployed to some citys no doubt ready for an announcement in over the next few days.

As I said from the start everything will be drip fed daily to limit panic.

Coronavirus: Italian army called in as crematorium struggles to cope with deaths
At least 93 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the north Italian city.

(Thu. Mar. 19, 2020)

The Italian city of Bergamo, one of the worst-hit by the coronavirus outbreak, is having to transport its dead out of the city as its crematorium is struggling to cope.

Army vehicles have been brought in to move dozens of coffins from Bergamo to other regions, according to Ansa news agency.

The wealthy city, northeast of Milan in Italy's Lombardy region, has recorded at least 93 coronavirus-related deaths as cases continue to grow relentlessly. It comes as Italy recorded more total virus deaths than China, at 3,405 - a rise of 427 on Wednesday.

The mayor of Bergamo, Giorgio Gori, said the true number of related deaths could be higher as many people with COVID-19 symptoms had died before being tested.

"The crematorium of Bergamo, working at full capacity, 24 hours a day, can cremate 25 dead", said a spokesperson for the local authority.

"It is clear that it could not stand up to the numbers of the past few days."

Spain jumped 5000 cases in 24 hours, now just shy of 25,000 cases. We are in lock down and it looks like it’s going to be extended for another 2 weeks after this initial 2.. perhaps even more. Thankfully the Spanish are not panic buying, but shit is serious here.. one person to a car, cops and army are on the roads enforcing it, only allowed out to get food or pharmacy.

I wash the exterior of the car every time my wife goes out and use disinfectant wipes on the interior as well.

She has a friend who has the virus and today we found out her friend's son has it as well (he's like 35 or 40).

Buying gas you should be wearing disposable gloves and drop them in the trash can there.

Overkill in this instance not only makes sense it is the wise move.

Yeah good advice about gas... Other one which may or may not be obvious to some is after you get home and wash your hands go and anti-bac the door handle to your main entrance inside first. Outside next.

Wish your friend a speedy and safe recovery.

Updates from Italy. After today's death count (+790) Italy is stepping up yet another time. PM just announced it.
Businesses have been asked to close ALL operations excluding "essential" supply chains (food and its delivery). Work on building sites will be stopped too apart from those working on hospitals, roads and railways.
People can only work remote from home.
Numbers don't seem to slow down.

youtube is now blocking all videos that have the word 'coronavirus' in the title. i confirmed this by uploading a video and putting that word in the title.

it would not play until i changed the title.

Questions: At any time in Italy did schools have to stay open and teachers provide child care for hospital staff or anything like that? I've not see any other country do it only the UK but understand that kind of information may not be posted outside of the host country..

So besides Hospitals, Food & Delivery Network (is delivery for food only i.e to supermarkets and supermarkets to homes?) assume normal postal / parcel deliveries have stopped?

Everything is now officially closed / "locked down" ? Are you able to go into your garden if you have one?

Thanks for keeping the updates rolling out.

Spain just declared they are extending our lock down for an additional 15 days until Easter Sunday.. cases still rising hasn’t hit its peak here yet.. although they think that will happen in another week or so, then hopefully we start to see a decline by Easter or it’ll be another extension and fuck knows what else.

More than 14.000 new cases in USA today. Someone still not believe in this shit? God help us

126 More Cases Of Covid-19 Confirmed In Republic of Ireland

(Alliance News) - There have been a further 126 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the Republic of Ireland, the country's Department of Health said.

The increase brings the total number of cases to 683.

Three people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 have died since the outbreak began.

Nine more people were diagnosed in Northern Ireland, bringing the total there to 86.

Overall 769 have been diagnosed with Covid-19 on the island of Ireland.

A total of 12 people have been admitted to intensive care units and 140 people overall were hospitalised.

The only county without a confirmed case is Co Monaghan.

Speaking at a press briefing in Dublin on Friday, Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan said he hopes social distancing measures will help to bring down the figures by the end of the month.

Holohan said there is "no time for complacency".

"Every citizen who is practising social distancing, who is taking precautions to limit the spread of this virus, is doing their country a service.

"The Department of Health has issued outdoor social distancing guidelines for everyone to follow.

"While we encourage people to exercise outside and maintain a healthy lifestyle, social distancing measures will continue to be paramount."

He urged people to take "personal responsibility" and to continue to adhere to social distancing measures.

Holohan said it was too soon to draw conclusions on the drop in the number of cases between Thursday and Friday.

He said: "I would not want people to take a conclusion from either yesterday or today's figures."
