First I'll say that my main income source is not IM, I have a regular job that I love and dont plan on leaving.

I had never worked purely from my house until one week ago, when the covid confinement started in my country.
At first I thought it would be great , but one week later, I dont se myself doing it for long without affecting my own mental and physical health badly.

It pushes me through a loop of working less, and feeling less alive. Only after 8 days, I miss human contact A LOT, which is something I'd hardly though I'd miss so quick.

I know that in regular situations (no quarantine) you have more freedom to do stuff and go out, but still, I feel like having a job that pushes me outside the house day after day really helps my well-being.

People who work from home and only leave your house on a daily basis for buying stuff and doing some exercise. How do you do it?

I miss human contact A LOT,
Come on dude u want to get that virus or what:D:D:D:D. Good thing working from home is u do the job and do other stuff at the same time

Just get your laptop and work at cafes , with beauties serving you

If your place is big and comfy - it can be nice to spend a lot of time there. You can still facetime your business partners and chicks to stay social.

I worked in jobs I hated for a number of years and don't see any situation where working for someone else would ever make me happy.

The pros of working at home are no distractions, higher productivity if you can regulate yourself, no transport times to and from a place, and above all, true independence.

Working from co-works and cafes is great to splice in there as well for a bit of a change, but if I needed to I could easily go months working in isolation (and have done), with only strictly social situations needed at night.

I guess if you're used to being around people constantly you need that to feel normal and not feel bored or drained.. probably being either an introvert or extrovert plays a big part in this as well. I recharge on my own.

I don't like crowded places and I find office talk useless. By working from home, I avoid unnecessary contact and discussion and stay focused on what I have to do.

According to MBTI, there are two types of people, introverts and extroverts. Despite the fact that MBTI is pure bullshit they address the fact that some people "lose their energy" by being in contact with other people, and other "recharge their energy".
You might be the second type, the extroverts.
If you are not into the introvert type you won't fit in this type of job.

Not everyone fits for just every single thing in life just as monkeys, there are some that live overnight and others over the day. Each care of each other, this is how this works.

I too have a regular job and I like it. So, yes... I am hating my life right now, because we are having to work from home too. I feel ya.

I don't if MBTI is bullshit or not , but for me personally , prolonged and/or frequent social interactions suck the shit out of my energy .

You get used to it. Honestly, I find it a bit of a relief not needing to put up with peoples nonsense, cracking jokes every five minutes. Now maybe I can use that energy to actually get work done.

I hate people, so I like it.

I consider myself in the introvert spectrum, without question. But I'm not a sociopath nor hate people, and when I feel social interactions are lacking, it doesn't feel right to me.

As an example, I lived in different countries during my life. I was born in a country where people are quite close to each other. Whenever I live in a country with "colder relationships", I start to miss closer human relations. Woking from home makes me feel like that, to a larger extent.

I'm not discussing working for yourself or for others, only the fact of not moving out of your house for most of the hours you are awake.
You can have a job outside in which you interact with people all the time, either working for, working with, or as employees.

I think I'm closer to unlocking the "alcoholic" achievement than topping my regular productivity at work lol

Yeah you're right, I just mean that 99%+ of people that work outside of their home work for someone else. 100% of the time I've worked out of my home I've worked for other people. I really don't feel fulfilled working for others, and it's not the way I'd like to look back on my life. You've either got to live through the pain of going your own way, or the pain of going someone else's way. I choose the pain related to going my own way.

LOL this is some true talk for sure.. easy to really let go, and remember probably not a bad thing too. Unlocking the "alcoholic" achievement, maybe not so much hah

In this case is just a matter of what refills your "internal battery". I think that the words "extroversion" and "introversion" in MBTI are wrongly designed. They should have named them "External" and "Internal" for "better" understanding. Internal is the guy that prefers lesser relations, lesser contact with other people and hanging around tires them up, while External is the opposite: needs contact with people and hanging around keeps them happy.

As I said MBTI sucks hard.

i am introvert to the core because i hate humans and love to live all alone in lonely places .. but when it comes to work i sometimes feel when i am in office with work environment i feel much more productive.. and when i work at home i procrastinate a lot and do works in hours which i can very possible do it in minutes in office environment.. don't know why
