Are you sure, you set up everything correctly? This sounds more like an SSL error or the DDOS protection might have kicked in, if you sent that 1k traffic all at once.

They're known for being a good domain registrar... Not sure why you would host with them lol. Being good at one thing does not instantly make you good at another.

1k not all at once. im using a PTC site
there must be a bit visit interval
even ~100 visitors will make my sites go down

Weird, i've never heard anything bad about them. I have 15 domains with them for over 2 years now, never had a single issue. They're cheap, reliable and easy to use. But that's just their domain registrar service, i don't host there.
