Recovering a paper key passphrase

I have an old BRD wallet that I created about 6 years ago. Trying to be clever I never wrote down the 12 word mnemonic passphrase, just some clues for myself about what the words were.

Fast-forward to now. I can only remember about 9 of the words. I have a few possibilities for the remaining 3, but I can’t crack it by hand.

Is there any tool or software that can tell me which words are incorrect? All my guesses pass the BIP39 wordlist, but I still can’t get the key correct.

No biggie if it’s a lost cause, there’s only a few bucks in that wallet

If it's only a few bucks just write it off. I think that is part of crypto.

Not too sure tbh, I don't have experience with BRD or losing mnemonics. Would probably agree with @darksoultrip - write it off, and invest into a hardware wallet from Trezor or Ledger if you're holding larger amounts of crypto. It's really worth it.

Just remember your keys, your cash. As soon as you lose your keys, you lose _______.

That is the big difference between crypto and banking, you are the bank and you're responsible for keeping funds secure.

Nothing can be recovered. If anything told you what seed words were wrong it would compromise the security of the seed.

I really don't think you can recover those 3 words. Also, I'm not sure if it is the case here, but the order is also important. So, if it is a low balance wallet and not worth the effort, just learn your lesson and move on

Thanks guys, yeah I was thinking I’ll just forget it and start again.

It’s more a question of nostalgia and the satisfaction of recovering that old wallet that had some change in it - after buying a few BTC at $350 lol
