We fist bumped as usual and I thanked him for coming by.
So, yeah, delivery personnel are still doing their job.

There's a weird feeling of fear on the streets and everywhere I've been today, I saw a lot of people on grocery stores and trains stations then I came home and watched Mayor DiBlasio on tv saying that he predicts thousands of cases by next week, so I ran to the grocery store and the line was triple the size that it was before, empty shelves on hand soap, vitamin c, toilet papers, and bounty sections, then I checked my twitter feed and saw that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife got COVID-19, chit is hitting the fan badly everywhere tho, I guess we just have to wait to see what's next

Very hard to say. In Germany they only have a handful deaths but a few thousand patients. I am wondering why. It seems the virus is much more dangerous in Italy. Maybe it mutated over there?

I’m definitely a cynic when it comes to stuff like this. I think it’s overhyped and it’ll be over before we know it. I’m glad we’re taking all the precautions, obviously, but some things are stupid. My boss suggested we use a stylus to punch in on our digital time clocks rather than our fingers. Uh-uh, you keep your stylus I’ll take my chances. Also all the damn stores are wiped clean (no pun intended) of toilet paper. Made me have to order a bunch of rolls myself online because psychos out there are overreacting and making Charmin richer by the minute. I don’t even know what to do with all these rolls - open up my own blackmarket? I was thinking $5 a roll. The irony of my fear of others overreacting thus making me participate in this TP buying frenzy is not lost on me, btw. Anyway, so far the virus looks like it has roughly a 2%-3% mortality rate which ain’t great, but SARS was like something crazy like 20% and MERS was even worse so...yeah. Plus the flu has already killed way more people this year than COVID 19...I don’t know. I’ll keep banking on everyone’s stupidity with my niche sites and ads catered toward this sort of thing as I slowly die inside because of how easily manipulated we all are by our own media.
folks, yes the spread is bad, but keep perspective, 55 million humans die every year, 20 million of them are due to cancer and heart disease the number 2 and 1 causes of death. There are 23 million new cases of cancer each year...imagine if they reported each one on the news day after day ? You'd be thinking the world is coming to an end because everyday 66,000 people everyday getting cancer and 26,000 dying each day. Every 60 seconds someone is murdered. 1.25 million deaths by car accidents, 1 million by suicide, another 3 million by respiratory deaths....the list goes on.... lastly, the common flu in america alone has infected 32 million, and killed 60,000 this past winter alone. How come none of that is reported in the news? But we go all hysterical over this (which we should be then so we should over the other things, too).

Right now it's already too much, major sports leagues canceling events, Saint Patrick's Day Parade canceled after 258 yrs, Broadway Shows shut down until further notice, CUNY, SUNY, and NYC Schools offering online classes to protect students, Coachella, NYC Auto Shows canceled, what's going on...

In other words, nobody cares about all those true statistics because they’re “part of the plan” and don’t sell. Sensationalism, playing off our worst fears like, say, a foreign virus with a scary sounding name, is what sells. Panic sells, as we see by all the goddamn toilet paper being gone.

I see news at Taiwan , their online shopping plaform is busy with many orders as people now more tend to stay in , so will purchase their daily needs etc from online
this MEANS we doing drop ship ones still ok parcel still delivery BUT can for see delay .
I check with china side , they actually back in business slowly sort up delivery the goods , cross my fingers is good.

3. It is here to stay. We have to live with it. Just like with the common flu. No matter you like it or not, that's the fact.
Everyone must do their share to contain the virus spread, but also important to know the real truth about Covid-19 to avoid over reaction that can cause mass hysteria.
I'm not trying to undermine the seriousness of the problem, I just want people to stay alert + be safe but in the same time to keep their common sense. Remember, we already have SARS-Cov2, MERS, etc. All are as dangerous as Covid-19.
We need to contain the virus PLUS the damage of mass hysteria. World economy in overall gonna be hit severly. In the end, it will affect everyone of us too.
Nonetheless, Ihope everyone is safe. Take care guys.

Yes, people actually don't realize that coronavirus isn't that new. It's been around for decades and farmers have been giving their livestock coronavirus vaccines for decades....it may not be the same strain but this isn't like the harbinger of doom the media is making it all out to be.....but i understand that over caution and being safe than sorry is better, but people need to relax. Go outside, live your life...there's nothing to be afraid of like how you are not afraid to get into a car but not realize your chance of dying is much higher, or how not realizing that getting out of bed increases your chances of dying by falling (1600 people a day die from falling). I have so many more stats but won't bother to mention them. Or people can just look them up on google, CDC, and WHO.

I would say your argument is very sound...except it isn't.
First of all, diseases you mentioned (except for common flu) are not contagious. They have majority to do with life style choices, genetics and some other factors. And even then, we have means to fight it. It's because they're not new, we had time to research those and create vaccines/medicine. Furthermore, some things can be predicted upon regular medical check ups and once again, a lot depends on the personal choices of life style/diet/bad habits etc.
Unfortunately, there will always be deaths from those diseases due to different risk factors and personal choices ( I could name few cases at least, that I personally knew, where people were too late to do anything, because of their own neglect of their health )
I'm not gonna address suicides/murders as that's a whole different issue, which is by the way, covered by the media anyway.
COVID-19 is a new form of virus, however, and it's not understood yet and when it's not as lethal as SARS, it way more viral. Incubation period, as of latest research, is said to be up to even 37 days. Which means it can go undetected for over a month. We might see numbers of infected people exploding in the next few months and we have no means to fight it. No drugs and no vaccines. The idea of these over-the-top precautions is to simply buy as much time as possible with as little casualties as possible. These virus has already spread all over the world in just 3 months and it the growth of infected is exponential. Italy, being on a lock-down, had 2000+ new cases in just one night. Imagine what would happen if the countries had done absolutely nothing to stop the spread. I would assume the numbers would be much higher.
So while I'm not the fan of this global panic, as it harms economy immensely, especially the entertainment industry of which I am part of ( major movie projects are already being either canceled or postponed ), I see these as necessary means to fight the virus and stop the spread of it as much as possible.
Well that's just my opinion anyway.

Fair enough. Of course, this is a contagious disease I am aware of that, but it also has a 90-95% recovery rate and apparently children don't seem to be affected or show much symptoms of it (hints clues as to understanding the immune system and how to combat this or come up with a vaccine) although of course they are carriers, too. I also think the way they show the stats is misleading. For example, they show China has 85,000 cases but 70,000 have recovered...there only about 13,000 active cases in China. The way they show the stats is how many were infected in history since it started. It makes it seem like there are more people infected than actually are.
There are a lot of unknowns, but guess what, almost everything else is still unknown, too. We don't know what exactly causes cancer? That seems fishy to me after how many decades we've been battling it? It's obviously in our food but we don't know what? It's obviously in the air we breathe (pollution, toxins?) but nobody is wearing a mask. But for covid19, suddenly everyone is scared? They've discharged 70,000 people (recovered)....that means they are freely roaming around in the public and if they are recovered but still having the virus in some sort of incubation stage and suddenly we're gonna realize that all the recovered people were actually still carrying it and infecting others seems like a far stretch to me more so playing on the fears and paranoia. It would make for a great movie idea for sure.
For me, while this is very serious and it's going to change the world in many ways because if the virus was a far deadlier one, we would be looking at the end times, this isn't the end bringer. It's a good test for us. It's a little glimpse of what is to come in the future and the whole potential behind biological warfare and weapons.
The greater battle to me is the fight for humanity. This whole idea of "elbow bumping" is the kinda stupidity that I feel we are all heading on. Avoid human contact...we're heading more and more towards the WALL-E world where all physical living and interactions will cease to exist as we become more isolated and cybernetic (digital lives will take over physical lives) and that's why I'm really apprehensive about all this.
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it (Thomas Jefferson).
It's also interesting nobody has mentioned North Korea in all of this. They are the only country (or will be) that doesn't have a single case. They've perfected it.
Keep the borders closed. The rest of the world is too open door policy and too loose all for the sake of money/capitalism.

Lack of fast hard measures lead to it. The goal of shutting down like this is to give breathing space to the health care system to try and keep up with new patients and not collapse and let people die not only from COVID19, but from other treatable issues which can't be treated due to overload.
