$2.5+ gets you amazing content at 100 words.

You are talking about $5+ per 100 words. That's a bit steep.

I haven't found one writer on BHW who sells actually good content for under $40/1k words (and I've tried a dozen). Every single one needs rewriting to sound native and flow well.

Where are you finding these writers? or are your standards just low?

There are many content writers on this forum and each one has his own style on writing. Also, some are better for affiliate sites and some are better for informational sites. For my niche I'm paying for quality content $40 for 1000 words.

You guys keep mentioning some "decent content" that is according to you is dirt cheap. Define "decent" in that case. I guess if your website covers an informal topic (e.g. music, crocheting, bird watching, etc), your content > your form. However, if your content is about finance or health, your writing has to be impeccable on every level otherwise no one will take you serious.
