Hi,
I have some questions related to hire somebody for SEO services.

One of the offers I got in this context offers to rise the Moz DA score for 10 points within about a month.
It's a flatrate offer which I as a noob with not much experience so far think nothing can go wrong with as the Domain Authority at first sight seems a valuable measurment which unlike keyword ranking isn't affected that much by fluctuation.

Am I right with this or might rising the DA score also be something "scammers" could do or be reached by blackhat techniques.

The guy offering this told me with the offer he will send me hundereds of high value links. This however made me doubt about the offer as I heard to built trust it is not recommended to built links this quickly.

Is there any technique which could rise the DA score quickly like blackhat techniques for keyword ranking which then afterwards will get penalized and gets the DA score dropping again?

What do you generally think of DA as a measurment for serious services. Could it be said that somebody who is able to rise the DA in a short amount of time has good SEO skills or are I judging this wrong?

Thanks in advance
Marc

DA is a third party, invented metric and google doesn't care about it. In fact, if the techniques used to increase your DA are too spammy, it may hurt your google rankings.

Why do you need to improve your DA?

Explain first what your goals are with your website.

it's an onlineshop therefore I want to enhance my ranking and visbility. Made very bad experiences with the agencies I hired for SEO so far therefore I hoped there would be any kind of metric I could connect to further payments to avoid getting scammed again. The scams are just possible cause there are no real valuable metrics and they can just always say it takes time and the changes will come soon. First agency I hired did this for 1 year until I gave up. Second agency a few weeks ago tried to scam me by sending me an invoice for 6 hours of work for an automatic link report that I did myself already within 5min before I hired them. Both of those agencies didn't get any money from me but the waste of time actually is much more expensive.

DA doesn't matter for anything unless you're trying to sell links. DA itself won't help with your search engine rankings much.

actually the one guy trying to sell an automatic link report claiming this took 6 hours of work charged basically the same amount as the guy promising he will get my page on DA10. Couldn't it be said that with DA10 there needs to be some good links otherwise it is impossible to reach this so it is bascially sure to get some value out of this investment? I'm tired that more than 50% in this industry are just trying to pull some scam and really have no more time to waste. Isn't there any halfway reliable way to know if somebody telling you something in this industry really knows what he is doing and not just tries to rip of some money.

Whatever you do in short term(not in a legit way) to increase site trust will not be for long term. If the link is low quality, it will further drop your site value. Site trust will be increased if you keep posting unique and relevant content, relevant links and on user experience.

Like everyone said, how does it matter to increase third party metrics be it DA, TF or DR? They do not matter to google and google has its own algo to rank the website. In case if you need to sell a website then these metrics will come to use as other normally valuate the domain based on these number. Otherwise just focus on getting ranked, these numbers are just numbers and by seeing it high, it will just satisfy your eyes, nothing else

Somehow none of the answers are related to my questions and what I explained and don't help at all. I don't care about DA I explained specifically what I'm trying to do and why I thought DA might be a good metric for that. I thought it would be not possible to increase DA with spam-links cause as the word says it should at least be somehow related to authority and takes things into account like the value of the connected links.
Concrete question bascially was if DA could be "tricked" like ranking, pushed up with spam links within a short amount of time only to get a penaltiy and drop again. Is it really that easy to do this with DA?

Yes it's easy to fool and manipulate DA. People will buy from you for your brand name not the DA of your site.

DA is used by MOZ and it was a thirdparty metric
Google doesnt care about third party metrics
but you have to think
To increase DA of a site we need to build high authority links towards that site over time
so that mean High DA is also equal to good link profile and good ranking site

So DA is not a bad metric

Yes, DA can be manipulated easily. Instead, check the backlink profile of a sit.

Since it's an online store (e-commerce) I highly suggest you find an SEO who knows technical stuff very well. Site structure, speed, usability, search, etc. are very important for e-commerce sites and many times they are lacking in those fields.

Optimizing those fields will help a lot and reduce the offline costs for ranking.

As for someone offering you a service of +10 Moz DA. Just no.

Ignore DA completely - this guy that is promising to raise your DA is trying to scam you even more, than the agencies before him. Now listen, no one, and I mean no one can guarantee you "first page". SEO is not exact science. If you want to have a metric that matters and to pay by that go with your money keywords. For example if you shops sell shoes and you are at 34 position for the keyword "sport shoes under $100" - you can measure the success of the campaign by the ranking of the keyword. This way you are seeing direct monetary result from the SEO work done on your website. And for the end - no one worth his salt will work for free. If you think that someone will rank your website and then will ask for payment - prepare for a rough ride.

thanks for the answers. The problem I have is that the page is pretty well maintained already (loading speed and other onpage metrics) but has almost no good links yet. I know some guys working in the sector who however are not working below a rate of around $200 per hour so I can't hire them (they are anyway much too busy) cause this rate is too high for me but I can ask them for advice from time to time. With almost no links I'm ranking on 15 for my focus keyword in the moment and establish links myself which however goes much too slow as I have no time and too less connections and knowledge. I thought DA would be something that could at least partly assure me to get good links and not being scammed again but seems this is not the case then.

All the metrics like DA, DR, and TF are given by third-party tools, not by Google. So don't focus on increasing the metrics of your own site. These metrics will only help to find the quality of the backlinks. Just focus on on-page content and quality of backlinks!

Find any seller who gives you the best strategy for both on-page and 0ff-page SEO.

Note: No one can promise anything on SEO here. Don't believe those kinds of people. They can only promise what they will deliver.

Good luck ;)

are there any other metrics that are more reliable? Somebody mentioned DR (ahrefs) but I guess this is kind of the same as Moz DA, right?
Any advice of how to continue in my case? If the page would be in English I would hire somebody here but as the page is in German and only aimed to German customers I guess this doesn't make much sense.
