I have published my very first application on google play store yesterday, but the app doesn't show at all when searching for it using my targeted keyword. I have heard that new apps don't rank well until a few days.
Here is my question, do I need to get some fake downloads, reviews, ratings to give my app a push or should I just leave it rank normally?

If you have your Title & Description optimized for the targeted keyword already - then you'd need to run installs & reviews, yes
If you want to achieve the results for sure - you may start with Google Universal Ad campaign for some not too expensive countries (not USA/UK/CA) together with some English reviews
Then you'd start getting indexed for your keywords

From my experience it's better to wait for a week after publishing before you start doing anything with the app. In this period your app will most likely not appear in search no matter what, and you'll have no idea how your actions will affect the ranking.

Thank you for the advice, and yes I already have the description and title optimized for the targeted keyword, but it is targetting USA and Canada. I'm pretty sure if the app starts getting organic traffic, it would be 99% from those 2 countires. So if i do run an ad campaign for the not too expensive countries, and the app ranks and starts getting traffic from the us and canada, would it be flagged as invalid traffic? (I'm running admob ads).
Thanks again

Flagging as invalid traffic doesn't really depend on the countries, it mostly depends on how old is your admob account and if you've received any payments already. "Invalid traffic" tends to happen with new accounts.

and it's easier to get ban in this timeframe, better wait few days than start promoting
