a friend of mine is willing to start upwork and he wants to pretend like he's living in a country which he's actually from it. the question is what's the best solution for him to change his location ? VPS or RDP or Proxy ?

I like AWS but dude it is actually risky so your friend should be careful cuz he may get banned in no time.

If you get a decent VPS, and your friend doesn't make any mistake, he'll be fine.

my answer is dont go with any. because very hard to build a upwork account with good feedback and job success ratings. A good Upwork account=Better chances to get more and more projects. if they banned your account you have to start from zero. They are very strict now days.
better ask to the upwork support because only they can give you right info.

A VPN will do the job, as he might install the upwork app and use it on his mobile (like Fiverr freelancers do).

A VPN can protect also his mobile phone.
