Can I take a story from old reddit posts and do voice over ?
Will the channel get monetized?
Is there a good audience for it on YouTube?

Doing your own voice-over is enough to get the channel monetized I believe. It's still not very easy from what I can tell though.

I created a custom program that automates the creation of Reddit TTS videos. I started uploading consistently in November of last year and am currently pulling in about 220k views per month with no effort on my end. There's definitely an audience for it but getting the channel off the ground is going to be a long and grueling process, especially if you're doing it by hand.

Yes 100% but to be safe ask the poster first

That's amazing ! From how many videos u are getting 220k? , Do u boost them with fake views etc or u just let it get views organicaly

I upload 3 times a day and the channel itself currently has about 500 videos. However, every video I upload gets killed off, meaning that the videos no longer produce any views, after about 4-7 days so all of my views come from new uploads. The channel has grown 100% organically, I've never bought fake views.

And do you use specific good keywords too that have high search volume but low competition?

That's going to be time consuming then. Should I mention in videos and channel descriptions that all stories are taken from reddit. Will the YouTube monetize it then after knowing that? Because it ain't my original material but only my voice over.

Yes verry possible

I hope so...

Reddit related channels are getting over saturated in my opinion, I'd personally suggest you to look for a more unique idea.

That's a great idea. But i believe you don't mention it on youtube that you don't own the videos originally. That is just for your application for monetization

You can do that but idk tbh youtube is crazy u don't know what and when it can happen.. but dude i see a lot of people talking about stories using reddit on youtube so i don't think from all thoes people u are going to be the only one who get hit but to be more safe also don't talk about something hardcore or nsfw just to be more safe

What would I do then if a reddit poster of the story stumble upon my channel and listen his story being narrated lol

Your channel will get monetized only if they meet the criteria like 1000 subscribers.

Im thinking about narrating scary and ghost stories from reddit.
But if I go to each poster asking for his permission, you can see that would be too much time consuming.

What should I write in description?

Yes i know it will take time. Just put the link of the story in the description or put it in the comments and pin it then say something like "story from:"

Hmmm... But YouTube has a content, monetization adsense policy which reads like : reading material from websites aren't allowed. I have read it days ago I think...

I have very limited knowledge of anything related to best practices for ranking, video metadata, growth strategy, etc. My philosophy has just been that if I keep uploading forever, I’ll grow. I’m sure I could be doing a whole lot more on the growth side of things but as of right now I’m just using the same description and list of tags for every video. I copied the tags from other popular reddit channels.

r/slash and many other youtubers steal posts from reddit and they make tons of money off of it. some even use robot voices to read these stories and youtube have them monetised. so i dont see why you cant do the same especially if you are using your own voice which is a bonus. you dont have to ask each poster for permission, i doubt they will come after you. if anything they will be pleased you mention their stories. and if any one of them comes after you you can always remove the video or offer to give them credit in the description. (i doubt anyone will though)

just look up rslash on youtube see what hes doing and not doing!
