[Case Study] Rank High Volume Keyword Only Using Internal Link

Sorry for bad english,

so this is my mini journey, to rank on top 10 serp with no backlink, only using internal link

The Rule
1. I target 3 keyword using 1 article only
2. I only use internal link and good website structure to optimize it.
3. The journey will start today 8 March 2020, and ends 1 June 2020

Target Keyword
there are 3 keyword that i target
1. Keyword No. 1 = Volume 33K /Month
2. Keyword No. 2 = Volume 22K /month
3. Keyword No. 3 = volume 3K / Month
total volume that i target = 58K / month






And my rank right now is



It only with 1 article,

Grand Strategy
1. i will send 60 or more internal links from supporting articles to the main article
2. I will place the main article in Navigation menu
3. I will stick the main article in the top of my homepage
4. I will update the article and make it more helpful, it only 388 word article, and i will make it at least 1500 words,
5. optimize for better dwell time and better engagement using more image, infographic, and video.
6. optimize the anchor text internal links, i still learn about it, and insyaAlloh i will figure it out how to do it

The fact you are going to bump the article from 400 to 1500 words makes the 'internal linking' part of the study a bit less relevant. Would be better to see you add more content, let Google crawl it and update its ranking and then do the internal linking stuff.

here are the semrush, i don't really understand semrush, i see that the average KD is about 80, is it hard to rank or what?

i write article almost everyday, this website is 70 days old and i have post 86 articles, and like 4 pages.

it is just case study, because there is a blogger in my country doing this stuff and rank no.6 on kw "best hosting" with no backlink. (best hosting in bahasa indonesia is "hosting terbaik"), and now he got rank no.1, i dont know whether he rank #1 using BL or no, but to get #6, he did nothing than internal links


i just follow his strategy and see how it works, if it works, just rinse and repeat, if it doesn't work, just use backlinks

I use ads, but now i'm renting ad space, still looking for advertiser

I've seen a couple of members here tried it, and saw some interesting things even there is a case study, here just search

Non English keywords are easier to rank without backlinks, just a few days I've watched a video from ahref about ranking pages without backlinks.

The first factor they mention for ranking without backlinks is having non english content, and using live case study using ahref they proved it, all the pages receiving organic traffic without backlinks are non english like arabic and so on...

So since it's indonesian, you'll definitely achieve your target.

here is 1 quick tip for you

add more backlinks to your homepage only and increase Authority to it.

For example: if you're behind " web hosting" niche try to acquire links from plesk / cpanel / acronics and etc....

No need to build any backlink to to the post/ pages ...that's what top eCommerce companies doing now a days...

yeah, last month i give about 30 backlinks to my website, and all of them link to my homepage, using brand anchor and naked anchor, but i'm not doing it for more than a month, because i'm focusing on creating content...
If i cannot rank within 3 month, i will consider to give more backlink to my homepage,
