Are youtube ads worth it?

Ive recently made a video, thinking of promoting it using youtube ads, is it worth it or will i be wasting my money?

If it's only for subs and views yes but u should know if your videos are good and if the people watching the video are going to stay and maybe watch other videos in your channel. When you optimize for that u may go with ads ( don't use the 60 sec bullshit ads etc , only use search ads , suggested video ), Don't spend a lot use just 5 dollars or less to start till u see and analyse if it's good for you or not. Btw if u don't mind sharing what's your content is about?

My channel is currently about deep learning and ais, i like to make fun little videos where i make ais for certain games or to make them do certain things like make them identify a picture.

That's good stuff so basically just test with a small amount of money $5 and see where that get you

It's either win or fail, as paid ads overall. I know someone who makes $500 a day with ROI x2 with YT ads, and there are hundreds who fail. Also, I know someone with x10 ROI in Pinterest ads, and there are thousands who can't make it profitable.
You have to test paid ads by yourself in almost all cases to make a decision.
