Hacked: Content injection - Share your Experience

I have searched a lot for people who have experienced the "Hacked: Content injection" security issue in Google Search Console.

We have had this recently alert recently on our site, and have cleaned up the offending pages. At around the same time (about 4 weeks later) we also saw a sharp decline in impressions and overall traffic. We are trying to understand if this is due to an algo change or if "Hacked: Content injection" has an affect on entire sites not only the pages affected.

We have not yet requested a review of the pages, but wondering if anyone has seen a similar pattern in their overall traffic relating to this security warning?

Yes, if your site is hacked, hence not secure for all your visitors, no matter if its just SEO hack, or malware, you would need to secure it, if you are on WP you can try something like Wordfence, they also do audits. if other platforms, try Sucuri Site Check.

Install Wordfence premium plugin it’s available out here for free, and set it up you’ll be safe from future hacks or you could use @kindablack service for additional safety. I have read about this and you’ll have to wait for a while before you recover

Thanks. I know how to clean up the site etc and have addressed all the page types that would have caused a security issue. The question is "hacked content" and the alert to google users should only appear in serps for those specific pages. However, what we have seen is a large decline in impressions and traffic to the overall site (which is 99%ish clean). Has anyone else who has only had minor "hacked content" seen the rest of their traffic also affected?

Got same problem, think I've fixed the issues but status hasn't updated since January lol.

Don't have data for the time when the alert first came up, but right now not really, quite the contrary actually, even though the warning is still there.
