Hello BHW, so this is a trick I learned a little while ago. But I don't do Shopify at the moment, so I forgot about it when joining here. Alright, so the title makes it sound sus, but it's 100% legal and doesn't break Shopify's ToS.

What you want to do is open up a Shopify Partners account. Once you have done that, you can create so called "Development stores". These stores are EXACTLY like regular stores, but free forever. However, you do need to start paying once you got 50 sales on it. By that time though, you would've made 10x that monthly plan payment anyway, so it doesn't matter really.

This is a legendary trick I learned and have used ever since. You can even take it a step further and just make a new store with the same domain once you reach 50 sales. But perhaps you don't have time to add all products and make the same design etc. It's up to you.

Enjoy! :D

*I wasn't sure what forum to post this in, so moderators can move it if they want.

May have been shared before, but this is the first I am hearing of it. NICE!

Old maybe but i forgot about. Thanks op for reminding me

can you use shopify apps for free also?

Old and useless since you can't use any paid app so you end up with a crappy store

I hope you're kidding. With a bit of web dev. knowledge you can make any paid app by yourself in honestly less than an hour. Alternitavely, pay someone on UpWork to make it for you and bam you get the app for the monthly price, but you can have it for a lifetime.

Can you tell me what do you mean about this....
Do we pay monthly price 10x from basic plans? Example basic plan $29, so we must pay for one month be $290/month?

No, he means if you have made 50+ sales then you will have made $290+ which is 10x the monthly fees.

So you won't care that you have to start paying fees.

Lmao yeah, because everybody in the world is a coder and can go around hacking apps.

And pay someone on upwork? That's just stupid. The whole point on doing this developer thing is to not have to spend any money on the shop
